I was playing on the ipad last night...newly purchased app does cool things!!!

Why yes....I have put clothes on my pets.  I am pretty sure it is a requirement in the House of Heathens.  It all started with a large dog who came to live here in 2003 and a bonnet my Mom made as part of my Little Miss Muffett Halloween costume circa 1965 (Mom saved it...I found it in the trunk that I brought back to Florida that year....and yes, I still have it and yes, there is a picture of me in said costume from 1965).

i112.photobucket.com

She was a natural.

it started before she came to Florida.  This happened in early 2003 when I was up visiting my parents to check on them.  The hat, the scarf and the red cowboy boots belonged to my sister who left them at their house until she could get all her stuff up to Canada.

Oh my gosh that is just solid gold! I have the "Cat" costume (one piece with a zipper up the back) that all of us kids wore. It's some sort of black cotton..must be tungsten, it went thru two boys and a girl and then my kid! It had a separate hood that you could sew cat ears on, or mouse ears...oh, and a one size fits all tail...I made it into a bat costume for my boy, when he was very young..that was before the Guinea Pig costume..I think...and yes, I made all of his costumes...including when he was Captain Kirk...:) ahhh..blackmail fodder!

I have never tried putting hats on cats but I used to dress the family dog (she actually tolerated it for a while):

We have a pretty steady breeze going tonight. Very tempted to hop on my broom and go visit Salem Witch. I have a hankerin to give Susie a biiig smooch! And I thought I might share some of my sauteed chicken with onion and garlic, swimming in an alfredo sauce, with morel mushrooms. (re-hydrated from dry). Served with whole wheat/ramp fettuccini. Ramps are like a wild onion/garlic bulb.. And not like the ones that grow in my garden..grr...No idea if they are edible, but I might try..I have enough of them!!!

Hmm..who else could I visit/pester...

I've always preferred black cats.  Maybe its because of the whole superstition thing about them.  Pigment discrimination.  I love my cuddly fuzzy friends  :)

Waaay back when, our first cat was a black tom. He was scary smart, but died of a cardiac issue. Very nasty, and we got him rehabbed, but he threw a clot and that was kinda all she wrote..Then we had Porky..who was! He was injured and lost an eye, and broke his jaw. I spent a good deal of time feeding him pureed catfud...ew..and then he would shake his head and spray the kitchen..lol..lol...but he was teh awesome. And he was mine. Not planned, but, he knew his own mind. I still miss him, and it's been a good 20 years or more. I feel blessed though. I had a very memorable kitteh!

If they smell like onion, go ahead.  If they don't smell, don't eat them, there is a poisonous look-a-like to onions, but they don't have onion smell.

I have a power massage shower head and I use that on my knee when it really starts to hurt. About 10 or 15 minutes on high impact followed by a heating pad for about 30 minutes. It won't last forever but it will usually get me thru an average day. Or if you have a jacuzzi, that works too.
Hope you find something that works. With any luck at all it will be gone by Graduation time

Dunno if this will help you, but a couple of years ago I shattered my leg and dislocated all the bones in my ankle...the only thing I've found that helps me for the pain and puffiness I still get is a turmeric supplement.  Its a natural anti-inflammatory.

Have you tried an Epsom salts bath? I know, onion belt and all that, but it works. Same for magnesium tablets. You can also get a magnesium oil spray. It really helps me with muscle pain.

If that doesn't work take 2 fingers of Bunnahabhain and call me in the morning.

gremlin1: The only animal that I dressed up was Belle. She had skin allergies in the spring and summer and would chew herself raw. After trying all kinds of medications and topical cures from the Vet, I grabbed an old shirt and put it on just to block her from scratching. It worked no more scratching or chewing and when she wanted to go out she would grab her shirt and bring it to me to put it on. The Vet thought it looked kinda funny but it worked.

Here's a few things you might find useful...dehydrated veg; celery, spinach, onions (red and yellow), and bell peppers (various colors- red, green, yellow, orange and purple).
I make my own, courtesy of my dehydrator and Costco (large amounts of veg for a very decent price), so there's no weird preservative shiat in them.
I've given jars of mire poix (celery, onion, and carrot) as well as mixed dried bell peppers as gifts...very pretty and very useful!
The peppers become chewy, and the flavor is concentrated, so they make an interesting addition to salads as well as useful for cooking.
Can't say the same for the celery...it becomes almost rock-hard and needs to be cooked.  About 10 minutes will do it.  It's weird, but something about the dehydration process makes it so that it will NEVER cook down into mush.  It retains a slightly chewy texture.  I use it in soups, stews, stuffing...and I'm told it goes a LONG way toward making ramen noodles more palatable and interesting.*
Spinach keeps its color and has concentrated flavor.  You can use it on salads, in the dressing, in eggs, the usual soups, stews (and ramen noodles!)...and it does WONDROUS things for tuna salad.  I've had people tell me that mine is the best they've ever had (which scritches my ego and makes me smile and go purrrrr...).

* Friend of mine was going 'camping' for a summer...had to keep his rations as light and non-perishable as possible.  Case of ramen noodles was part of the provisions.  I gave him dehydrated celery, onions, and spinach...came to less than a pound, but he told me later that he became very popular due to his cooking and that the addition of this stuff made all the difference.
It's nice to get things RIGHT now and then... :-)

You haz my empathy (chronic pain issues here).
I've found that generic muscle rub (Ben-Gay or Aspercreme knock-offs- I'm cheap thrifty) work surprisingly well for aleviating joint pain...although only temporarily...figure 2-3 hours, but they 'kick in' IMMEDIATELY.
I know you'd probably do this anyway, but my obsessive little soul makes me do this:
Make sure you wash your hands really well after applying!  If you get the fumes near your eyes it's very painful...and...how do I put this...keep it away from delicate parts*

They have the odorless kind if you really hate the wintergreen smell, but I don't know if they have it in generic.
Hope this helps...knee pain SUCKS...especially when you have to get stuff done!

Thinking you meant 'tub and its grody mat', right?
Make your life easier.  Toss the mat into the washer with a towel and use some vinegar in the rinse.
It will clean and de-grodify the mat.  Saw this in 'Hints from Heloise' years ago...and I do this for the tub mats at my group home.
Only way I can think of to clean the tub easier is to get someone else to do it... ;-)
