They're just pissed because he called them out over the US debt rating.  I believe he said it was worth AAAA.

Plus he owns Moody's.

It's good to hear that S&P is being so proactive about maintaining timely and accurate ratings.

FTFA: The company had about $49 billion in cash at the end of March.

You know, many times the GDP of dozens of countries....

lulz.  Warren could buy every single employee and physical asset that S&P has and liquidate them all to Abu Dhabi before lunch.  I doubt he's scared of them.

And how!

I sold my b-stock today, but not for that reason. I had made a substantial gain on it (Bought way back when it was $78 or something), and I wanted to put that into a stock which paid a dividend.

Just wait until he puts his big lizard in your backyard, then you'll see his rating go up!

To be fair, some of that downgrade is likely "Hey that Buffet guy can't live much longer and look what happened when Cook replaced Jobs."  The other part I'm sure is the whole "How can they invest in railroads and actual infrastructure?  Why you no flip it and create teh bubbles like other companies?".

These are the same people that think chopped up NINJA loans were basically the safest investments in existence right? Okay, I will give their views on this stock all the credence they deserve.

A downgrade from any of the major agencies should be seen as a positive, given their shiat-tastic record on these things.

Why chase waterfalls when there are plenty of great "real" ideas to invest in?

This is a good time to throw away "conventional thinking" and go where solid research and optimism can take you.  There's a lot of unique problems that need fixing, find those that are working on actual solutions.

Well given Berkshire Hathaway uses the cash they have on hand for acquisitions, I'm pretty sure they're not exactly worried about what their rating is.
