Pilikia: JohnnyCanuck: Pilikia: there's no evidence of arthritis or pieces of connective tissue floating around in there, I really don't know.

I assume you've had all the relevant blood tests done?

Dude, don't even get me started, lol. I'm done paying the out-of-pocket portion of the lab fees as well. I'm just going to get crankier and crankier from the pain until they have to shoot me like an old dog. ;-)

Amputation would work. Well, maybe not for the back or neck pain. On second thought. Have you tried Ovaltine?

Well there is your answer. Your calvalator triglyceritical has bufumpbled radicals. The only solution that has proven to work is having a Thai ladyboy massage your big toe on alternating weekdays.

I believe that's against the law for a pharmacy to take back pills it has already dispensed.

They dispose of them. I returned all my of husband's meds (minus any good ones) to CVS after he died. It's better than flushing them.

Bingo. Thanks gambitsgirl.

It took me four years and four doctors to get one to diagnose me with Fibromyalgia and give me medication.  Both Cymbalta and Lyrica greatly improved the pain, but I gained 100 lbs on the Lyrica so no more of that before I can't fit through the front door.  For breakthrough pain the doc used to give me 30 percocet a month, which wasn't enough to do much for the pain, but was enough to feel the addicting qualities a bit.  Tried a few other things, and have since been diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis on top of the fibro, which is why my pain is really hard to manage.  I take Cymbalta and Tramadol as my main drugs, plaquinil for the inflammatory arthritis, and cyclobenzaprine so I can mostly sleep through the night instead of waking up at least three times with muscle spasms.  As for the breakthrough pain, I have tried the limited script of different narcotics (not enough and heavens forbid they give you more), physical therapy, acupuncture, trigger point injections, and every other bs suggestion these doctors insist I waste money on.  Now when the pain is too bad I just smoke weed till it feels better.  It's easier to get than legitimate pain meds and a hell of a lot cheaper than letting a chinese lady stick needles in my back for 40 minutes.

I haven't, and I appreciate the thought. But I've heard of it, and it's fairly similar to a subset of the exercises I do already.

It's not exercises. That is, Feldenkrais probably includes a lot of things, but I'm talking about manual physical therapy.

$30 for the doc and probably about $5 for 30 pills.   Can you buy 120 pills @200mg for $35?    The biggest benefit of buying it OTC is that you don't waste 90 minutes of your life arguing with your doctor, and you were going to CVS to buy ice cream or tampons or something anyway.

WalMart's got a bottle of 500 generic 200mg ibuprofen online for $7.  How much are more are you really going to knock off of that?  It's a little more expensive at CVS but not that much, dealing with the prescription isn't usually worth the trouble.

The idea is that if you have insurance that covers prescriptions it will be cheaper that way than OTC. But depends on your coverage.

I understand that. The scam refers to what the manufacturer gets - about 4x per mg than OTC - not what I pay.

On a side note, have you purchased any OTC ibuprofen lately? I can get 500 for $5.99 at Walgreens. That's 125 at 800mg. With my PPO 125 of those horse pills is going to run me $8-10 out of pocket. Not to mention that OTC saves me aggravation of wanting to punch the doctor.

BUT... it's moot. No amount of ibuprofen works. And I know it's weird for a martial artist to say this, but acupuncture is a scam.
