My prayers go out to the families and loved ones of those killed in the storms and I'll say another prayer later for the safety of those still in danger.

So remember kids: the only thing that stops a vengeful God with a storm is a benevolent God with a storm.

Ouch, that was painful to read. Ah well, they can't all be homeruns. Try again in a day or two, maybe incorporate "blah people" or something about the tan mom to really cover your bases.

When I lived in NY as a teen a twister "hopscotched" directly over the farm I was living on...I was outside and you couldn't really see the twister since it was airborne, but I went out and collected debris left on the property. Including a page from a yearbook that was from PA, as well as a bit of rubbish that had PA markings. Crazy shiat.

Deeds said six people were killed when the powerful storm struck a Habitat for Humanity neighborhood in the area. There were about 120 homes in the neighborhood and most of them were destroyed, Deeds said.

Dick move, God. Real dick move.

spent some time in Texas city and the storms there get so amazing and destructive, the lighting and wind that just whips up in texas is incredible and then the storms just fade off as quickly, one thing you can say about Texas though is the communities there are really strong and they really help their neighbors

Granbury's a really nice town, and there's a lot of money in the area.  They'll pick themselves up easily.

Now that I live on the west coast I actually miss the crazy storms and weather in general. It's not even like crazy storms happened once or twice either, Texas is an intense state on that level. Hell, I heard somewhere that Dallas was windier than Chicago.

This is why I left Texas 46 years ago....

Although it wasn't as long a drive as I expected and I could have waited several more years to be out by today.

Possible tornadoes cut a wide swath through north Texas on Wednesday night...
WTF do you mean possible? I guess they're guilty until proven innocent of being tornadoes huh...

On the bright side it's 6 people who no longer live in Texas.

I've been told by those in Texas that it is always a tragedy when people* in Texas die.

*"people" in Texas being limited to white, non-Hispanic natural-born God-fearing Christians who are members of the Tea Party and who own at least one AR-15.

Wind can be incredibly destructive during a severe storm, even if it's not rotating at ridiculous speeds. So... credit where credit is due, I guess.

But gah, I have friends down in Texas, including one in the Fort Worth area. Hope he's hunkered down and doing okay. And now I'm trying to remember where my great aunt lives. She's down there, too...

I heard the tornado was actually that tropical depression that disappeared from the Gulf of Mexico last fall.
