Mr. Coffee Nerves: Mmm, just like Mom used to industrially extrude

You're mom was a meat extruder? My dad was more of a compression guy. He was a meat pounder.

I just called my broker to buy shares in Charmin and Imodium.

Alpo or Chuck Wagon. Take your pick.

$3.49 sounds a bit pricey. Fark that. The McRib still rules.

funny thing about it is, everything I have ever had save fries are better at burger king, BK broiler being my all time favorite, but I guess mcdonalds marketing is much better because i havent been in years,  i bet this will be better then the mcrib I will never know

Well, the advertisement image certainly looks more apetizing than McDonald's offering.

When I used to work there, I made them first-hand. I seriously never saw the appeal of a frozen, processed slab of pork that only slightly resembled a rib, whether I had a hand in its creation or not. After it was cooked, you'd just dump it in what I imagine is a slightly less tangy version of their McNugget BBQ Sauce.

I guess what I'm getting at is, if you have to choose, processed beef >>>>> processed pork.

If I ever get to the point where I have a "favorite" item at a place like McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, or Taco Hell, my family has orders to euthanize me.

Normally, I'd agree with you 100%. But did you look at the picture of that thing in the article? It's a promo pic, and you can see little chunks of fat on the patty.

I don't mind fast food, but I can't stand gulping down gristle.

Oh I don't disagree that the BK offering doesn't look so good but I was speaking in general. This place is horrid for having food snobs.

Well, sometimes snobbery is a good thing

LOL!

I do enjoy a good burger and fries... Burger King has better burgers but McDonalds has the better fries... but those are just dog food sandwiches. Plain and simple.

If they actually used rib meat to make the 'boneless' patty I would be so shocked as to accidentally jerk the King off blindfolded. But that is not happening.

2013-05-16 05:21:00 AM
I'm not sure about the bun though and it looks like the pickles are blocking the sauce from reaching the meat patty. unacceptable

I'll give it a try.

The one thing I think BK has over McD's is that they serve the Whopper on the breakfast menu, which for some reason is when I most want a fast food burger.

Well they are sweet pickles.  And tasty at that.  Work part time at BK and saw all the stuff for them last night.  Rib patty's looked good at least.

2013-05-16 11:13:42 AM
I had a Burger King Rib sandwich yesterday.

It's damned good!

The meat is tasty enough that they don't drown it crappy-sweet "BBQ sauce.  The pickles are ample and tasty.  The bun is outstanding.

I'll be back for more.

As opposed to the McRib where McD's only brings it out once a year so there's time for you forget how awful it was the last time.

yeah, when i was posting that, i was eating one from a local vietnamese place.  that was not the picture of the sandwich i was eating, but... yeah, i just wanted to share that happiness with the world.

and even now, looking at the picture, i could smell it in the nose of my mind and got hungry all over again.

If you really want McRib year-round, just go to the frozen foods section at the grocery store and get the Morningstar Farms riblet.  I'm not saying it's good, but I'm not saying McRib is good either. It doesn't actually have any meat in it, so I think it actually is McRib in a different package.
