He came in to compete for the starting job, not be the 4th clown in a 6 clown circus (although the sixth clown was also recently departed).

Oh, and also of note is Rolando McClain retired, which I find hilarious.  He couldn't even make it to training camp.

A) I misspelled the team
B) I was thinking of Leftwich

I'm not going to stop posting, just maybe one less Molson Canadian during hockey season

Somehow talking about the Jets QB shiatuation doesn't seem as interesting anymore.

If you combined them all into one super QB they would probably have the equivalent of........a Carson Palmer level QB

good luck with that

Just think, if the Cowboys sign Tebow and use that Bundler Machine from the Progressive commercials, they could have a kinda sorta almost half complete Quarterback.

I still think letting Romo play the first 50 minutes and letting Tebow play the last 10 would be a brilliant move for the Cowboys.

what if the Jets just decide to hold an open tryout.. and Tebow shows up?

Of course, we all know what the real solution to the Jets woes is.
There's a QB out there. A QB who's primed and ready. A QB with lots of experience. A QB who holds the record for longest pass in a Super Bowl.

Maybe switch it to 30/30 in December.

Sad for Garrard, nice enough guy met him a couple times at ECU just randomly and once again in Jacksonville, watched his career and kept hoping for some real success

Because the Hawks had no QB and because the Niners got lucky(not that it will win them a Super Bowl)

There's no controversy there. The lessers were shipped off to other teams.  If you're team has a QB battle going into this season and it's neck-and-neck then you really *have* no QB.  Not in this day and age where dominant QBs reign.

There seems to be a never-ending supply of people who want to talk about the guy even when the story isn't about him.

On the other hand, it is precisely this shiatstorm of drama that follows him that guarantees nothing but the most desperate of desperate NFL teams will ever give him a chance again. I wonder how he will do in silver and black?

Sadly, it could have been so much more. Imagine if they had kept Tebow and signed JaWalrus after he worked out for them. That would have been like Christmas.

It's been a good run, David.  Take your place on the pedestal next to Jeff Blake.

In 1999, eastern NC was utterly wrecked by Hurricane Floyd.  East Carolina came within a couple of hours of having to cancel the semester because they were going to miss too many days.  In the midst of all this, ECU had a "home" game to play against Miami, and they ended up playing in Raleigh at NC State's Carter-Finley Stadium.  David Garrard and coach Steve Logan shocked the #9 Hurricanes by rallying from a 20-point deficit to win 27-23.  Parts of those goalposts made it halfway across the state, and David Garrard went on to play in the NFL for a decade.

The only better game I've ever seen ECU play was the '92 Peach Bowl.

No, because he blew out his knee turning around to look at something. He should have retired four years ago.

They'd probably just assess him:

-Good size, decent mobility
-Gormless
-Poor throwing mechanics and lack of accuracy

Not QB material, thanks for trying out Timothy.

They finally got a home-and-home series going a couple of years ago.  They played at Carter-Finley in '06 and '08, and at Dowdy-Ficklen in '07 and '10.

/this year they go to both Chapel Hill AND Raleigh - gonna be a rough OOC slate.
//can't lose in that UNC-ECU game either way, though

Favre is retired (and possibly set to join the Packers front office). Delhomme is ready and available.
