"Beer is too strong" is like "Skirt is too short." I know what all the words mean individually, but they're nonsense together.

sharphead: Damn....and some of you American's come to Canada on purpose because you can't get decent strong beer in the USA.  Did someone not give you guys the memo that prohibition is over?

puddleonfire: Tough shiat.
The brewer should've read the paperwork on what beer he's allowed to brew with what permit.
The brewer screwed himself.

this comment is what's wrong with America.

It comes as a surprise to many furriners that Prohibition was only repealed at the Federal level. All manner of alcohol-related asshattery still goes on at the State level.

Yes. From a State that has dry counties and used to have to trek to Ohio because their drinking age law, at the time, were 18 for that ridiculous 3.2 beer The bartenders didn't care) I can tell you that vestiges of Prohibition still exist and they are a gigantic pain in the @$$

The liquor laws here are just retarded, I wouldn't force the ABLE commission on my worst enemy.

Actually, the laws are getting less retarded.  If I understand correctly, Oklahoma didn't allow brewing beer ("strong point", greater than 3.2%) at all until fairly recently.  Some recent law (you care enough, you'll look it up yourself) added that ability, as well as several new, related licenses.  These guys got cross-ways with ABLE because they didn't spring for the right license.

Maud Dib: Sure, you may get stuck buying 3.2 swill in an Albertson's (F the Mormons), but all you have to do is go to a liquor store to buy real beer.

Same in Oklahoma.

oklahoma beer is 3.2 percent as opposed to the exact same beer in texas which is at least 5.0 percent. when i was in a band from texas playing in oklahoma we'd drink beer all night and not get drunk, on the flip side it was always fun to watch the oklahoma bands come to texas and just get trashed stupid drunk on our beer...

HA! They only wish.

There are micros on almost every corner here, and we can enjoy strong drink without feeling the need to resort to calling the authorities.

/will be enjoying a Deep Ellum Brown Stout when I get home from work.
