Idiots should detonate those before hoisting them up on their shoulder like that.  They're much easier to carry after they've gone kablooie.

I'll venture to guess that you know very little about firearms and ordinance. I bought it off the shelf at the army surplus store. A 40mm grenade is very similar to a large shotgun shell and from this faint blue paint I would imagine it was a practice round so there's no danger of fragmentation.

Funny thought though...

Well the spinning action is what arms it, but you'd need to spin it really damn fast. Like launched from a rifled tube fast.

The black pins have to be pulled back by centerfugal force to allow the detonator to spring forward enough so the firing pin can hit it.

Well if somehow a live practice round made it's way to you, it could still be a danger because of the propellent charge used to launch it from the tube. There would only be dye in the 'warhead' and no high explosives, but without a launch tube, the casing could fragment, and send casing pieces everywhere. It would probably be strong enough to remove fingers if you held it while setting it off. It's very unlikely you have a live round though. But there is a good way to test it. hold it upside down between your knees, stick a pin against the round metal piece in the middle of the bottom, and strike the pin really hard with a stapler. If you feel a stinging sensation in your testes, it was a live round.

Long ago on a base far far away we got a call saying there was a deputy at the main gate wanting to report that UXO had washed up on a local beach. We met him in the parking lot expecting him to escort us to it, instead he popped his trunk exposing the front half of a corroded Zuni rocket that he had decided in his manifest wisdom to bring us. He was really unhappy to hear that SoP for smaller UXO is to sandbag and blow it in place.

I'll check that one out on Netflix tomorrow!

And don't forget The Italian Stallion.

One more and I will stop. Cliffhanger.  John Lithgow stole the movie. Good action and, again, good explosions. Stallone made some good movies. Never cared for the Rocky ones. I like his action ones.

The Italian Stallion was his only porno flick. Yep.

I may have seen bits and pieces of Cliffhanger, I can't recall. Stallone's voice/face really bothers me so I tend to stay away from his movies but I love campy, cheesy movies so Death Race 2000 sounds right up my alley. I also love Lithgow to bits so I'll see if I can watch Cliffhanger too. Thanks again for the recommendations! I'll pass on The Italian Stallion. lmao
