Excellent find. Am I not seeing Bob Loblaw? Surely it wasn't forgotten. But Maeby.

AD like MST3K is one of those shows you either think is gut bustingly funny or as funny as watching dust collect. Im in the first group.

When I see a Arrested Development thread with the haters im always reminded of the Famous Joel Hodgson quote " We dont worry about who will get this, the right people will get this "

Gawain: I'm torn... on the one hand, I don't want the new season to be nothing but running gags and references to the previous shows.  On the other hand, that's pretty much what the show is.

Well no. Like Community (seasons 1-3) part of the appeal is that it overlays references to the past while slowly introducing new gags. The pacing of introducing new (or variations) themes along with folding in old ones was perfect -- and interesting to study as well since it resembles the repetition patterns necessary for learning.

If they rest on their laurels like Community season 4 and simply rehash their older stuff without introducing new ideas as well (or if those new ideas suck) then it'll be a huge disappointment. But to say the entire show is just about referencing previous shows....that's wholely incorrect.

While I thought the show was funny to begin with, it was only with DVD and now Netflix, where you can binge watch, that it reaches 'classic status'.  The multiple interruptions during the original broadcasting did no favors for the running jokes and that is the best part of the show, IMHO.

For those who have only caught a couple episodes here and there, I recommend watching 3-4 at a time.  You will get the full effect of the jokes then because this show did a great job setting up a joke in one episode, and paying it off a couple episodes later.

Has anybody mentioned yet how unfunny and overrated this show is?

Burr: wiredtolain: Burr: They should do this for Archer

/"Three weeks later, I was in Tunisia, killing a man"

Speaking of Archer, AD had better have an Archer reference in it somewhere.

Best bet would be "Phrasing", but I hope they are more subtle then that.
