The really sad part is she was a blonde, in a convertible, with the top down.

Let also add my tiny fist of frustration.

Heh, came for this.

Considering it was most likely an older model Ford or Chevy I'm surprised she didn't just jam a butter knife in the ignition and drive away.

The ironic thing is she actually stole a bulk box of 10,000 spoons.

/I know it's not really ironic

So she lost the keys ... after getting into the car and locking the doors?

Did she check the ignition? Did she check the front seat and floor?

Did the windows not roll down?

I suppose it is technically possible to get into the car and lock the doors and then discover the keys are outside, but most people would have the keys in the ignition or their hand before they locked the doors, so ... no lost keys, and Subby's headline explicitly says she locked herself in the car and THEN lost the keys.

You know where I'd look for the keys? In the car.

I knew a guy who could have done this.

Mind you, his car cost $100 and had holes in the floor so you could accidentally drop the keys through the holes. But I suspect that in that case all you would have had to do is make the holes larger and pick up the keys from the pavement. A couple of good kicks and you could have powered the car Fred Flintstone-style.

Looking at the location; makes all kind of sense

Doesn't sound like she's a genius at all. Terrible headline.

Long ago, I had a 1991 Accord, the door handles inside the car had broken off. One night, a couple of kids decided to get into it and see what was there. As I barely paid anything for the car, I left it unlocked. They ended up getting trapped inside because they didn't know how to get the doors open.
