Mr. Coffee Nerves: I'm trying to think who I would want least as President of the United States: Michele Bachmann or a Muslim imam.

I'd rather have the imam, as there's a non-zero chance that any randomly-selected imam is NOT a psychotic theocrat hell-bent on making his religion the official religion of America.

F*ck Rand Paul. I thought maybe there was some good in him for his filibuster against the use of drones to assassinate Americans, but then he goes and demonstrates he has not problem with the State having the authority to do the same on American soil.

She is convinced that she's incredibly special and chosen, and that gives her rights and privileges and duties that the plebes just don't understand. It is a dangerous combination. Perhaps Nehemiah Scudder will rise up, but instead of a backwoods preacher, it will be a woman who looks to be The First Prophet...

And how exactly does fellating a corn dog fit into the spiritual warfare paradigm?

2013-05-15 10:40:39 AM
"Because as the scripture was read from the pulpit at Margaret Thatcher's funeral, we fight not against this world, we fight against the powers and principalities and prince of the air. That's where we need to focus as well, is on spiritual warfare."

You see, it's easier to declare victory against the supernatural and go home.

If you declare war on starvation, then you have to feed billions of people. You actually have to work hard for a long time and spend billions of dollars that don't enrich oil companies and defense contractors. Plus, unfortunately for the GOP leadership, you end up saving the lives of billions of non-white, non-Americans.

So, it's just easier for sociopaths like Bachmann and the rest of the GOP leadership to fight invisible foes until they find an oil-rich country to invade in God's name. I mean, really, 250,000 Iraqi civilian casualties is proof we are fighting on God's side.

FTA:

And if we tread too softly on issues like taking on Islamic jihad, and if we fight too timidly and if we strive too meekly, then I think we all understand, we very easily could come face to face with defeat and then our nation would, in fact, pay a great and a lasting price, one that none of us wants to face.

I think I agree with this sentiment of hers.  We need to fight, and fight fiercely to end this threat to our liberties.

I would suggest starting with a drone attack on her house - preferably with her in it.

As someone who has met her in person (she was representing my area up until last year), she seemed like a very normal politician that can deliver a pretty good boilerplate speech.  I was disappointed I didn't get to see any wharblgarbl first hand.  I think she only brings out the good crazy for special occasions.
