Ok, he went to the point of covering his license plate? fark this guy. I hope his mustache gets infected.

Really. Just 120 mph. The Autobahn, when not slowed to a crawl, laughs in your general direction.

Only 26 years? Not that much...

They let the racist abusive violent jackasses have a paid vacation for beating minorities but this guy has a little unsafe fun and he gets the whole book thrown at him?

Nice.

I expect him to be reinstated after the FOP lawyers and a huge legal bill paid for by taxpayers is completed.

He was convicted, the FOP, PBA, or whoever represents him can't undo that. If the crime wasn't enough to lose him his pension, then he's lucky to take the money and run.

It's stupid to last that long only to piss it away to help some rich douches get home faster.

Yes....^^^THIS^^^. Just wonderful. Another tax bill to be paid and some lawyers get rich off the process. Perfect.

Where I live a job-related felony conviction costs you your pension. They refund your pension plan contributions, which are a small fraction of the total value of your pension.

Covering up the license plate seems rather dumb... aren't there usually giant identifying numbers plastered all over the police car?

Wowsers! That's some REAL repercussions right there. I bet there aren't a lot of ding-a-lings that go that route in your neck of the woods, huh?

I would LOVE to see that become law all over the place. It would sure put the fear of living-on-cat-food-from-dumpsters into folks.

I'm sure it is.  I doubt anyone would have been stupid enough to try that stunt again.  So, I guess it just takes THIS long to get something so obvious through the courts.

He probably shot a few in the 26 years he had the job. I figure he just didn't meet his quota and was on the bubble anyway.

"In addition to being banned from the force for life, Nassry, a 26-year veteran, also received a year of probation Monday and an order to perform 75 hours of community service after taking a plea deal to fourth degree charges of tampering with evidence."

He would be back on the job after a few months of paid leave if he had just beaten somebody.

Was he banned for life because he was speeding or because he tampered with evidence?

Of all the things to throw the book at a cop over, you choose THIS?  Shiat, I go north of 120mph on my sportbike in traffic almost every day.
The cop was a dumbass for thinking he could get away with doing this in a police cruiser, but for once, I'm on the side of "give him a slap on the wrist and let him go back to catching criminals".

I'll take this kind of "bad cop" every day over the kind we usually read about.

Tampering with Evidence, since any defense lawyer for anyone he every arrested or ticketed would be laughing all the way to the courthouse with that.

Maybe his bosses hated him and were looking for any excuse to fire him. My old boss wrote up one of our drivers for wearing a hat inside, during the winter, he just walked in the door and was about to take it off when the boss came out screaming at him about it.

A LONG time ago I spent a brief period with a group of "cannonballers" going from Chicago to a resort in northern Wis...they were in high end sportscars I was on motorcycle...they could afford the the 70+ over tickets I couldn't.  Stopped playing after 10 miles...

CSB....sold the bike a couple years later...didn't want to be red smear on the road...still miss it.

Civilians clocked at those speeds are likely to end up with a few months in jail.  An Officer not responding Code 3 should face at least some "administrative penalties" like a few days of paid leave.

Regardless, the Trooper isn't facing charges for speeding.  He's facing charges for covering his license plate, which is a clear "fark you" to the civilian sheeple just like when Officers cover their name tapes and badge numbers.
