People are farking lame.

2001-11-29 11:33:58 AM
Isn't this a repeat? I remember this from a few months ago. The senator said that maybe women shouldn't have the right to vote, but she's a woman and that's what she does.

Or, is there more than one? Geez.

2001-11-29 11:34:49 AM
I think this is stupid. why would she be against women voting when it's probablly the women voters who put her in office?

2001-11-29 11:34:54 AM
Stop women's suffrage NOW

2001-11-29 11:35:07 AM
What a great prank.

2001-11-29 11:36:51 AM
damn moron deserves to look like like what she is: a moron. No lawsuit should be able to fark with that.

2001-11-29 11:36:54 AM
1 down, 99 more to go.

2001-11-29 11:36:56 AM
This is quite interesting. Seems like the republicans only want to be alllowed to use illegaly recorded conversations when it suits their needs, remember Linda Tripp? I for one think you should ONLY be allowed to record secretly and without consent in a "public way". But then, the patriot act extends wiretap laws for the GOV't, shouldn't CITIZENS get that same extension?

2001-11-29 11:37:03 AM
In the lawsuit, O'Connor describes comments attributed to her about the 19th Amendment as "manufactured and misreported" by The Star.

Yeah, right. Open mouth and insert foot; when caught, blame someone else.

2001-11-29 11:43:09 AM
I bet if this lady made those comments about women's sufferage during her run for office, she wouldn't have been elected at all. She should be revoked from the sisterhood.

2001-11-29 11:45:51 AM
Hmmm... could one argue that if you opened the door to your house and talked on the porch that you have a resonable right to be a dumbass-- er, I mean, right to privacy?

2001-11-29 11:48:54 AM
I think you are giving her a hard time. Just because she is stupid and doesn't understand English dosen't mean she can't be a senator.

2001-11-29 11:49:38 AM
This sounds like exactly the sort of thing Michael Moore would do.

2001-11-29 12:04:07 PM
The lawsuit doesn't have a prayer. The doorstep is a public place, the woman is an elected official, her words were political. It will be dismissed before it ever goes to trial.

Since she's a woman and doesn't believe that woman have a right to political expression, she should just learn to keep her mouth shut.

2001-11-29 12:10:54 PM
Let's see. We need to airlift thousands of Susan B. Anthony dollars to Kansas, along with a few thousand copies of "Inherit the Wind."

2001-11-29 12:12:26 PM
How did I know this was a Republican? I didn't even have to read the article. Reminds me of those "enlightened" Dummycrats who tried to turn over Newt Gingritch's cell-phone conversations to the DNC. The end justifies the means to these people... what's next, murder? Oh wait, that's been done... Vince Foster.

2001-11-29 12:13:33 PM
Yeah, the media these days is soooo credible. A female senator would say that women shouldn't vote with the press there. Riiiiiight. I know who I believe.

DivineOb: lol!

2001-11-29 12:18:06 PM
They need to send this story in script form to Boston Public.

2001-11-29 12:19:31 PM
What the hell is an "unauthorized political forum"??? Where I come from, political forum is authorized implicitly, it's a little something called the first amendment. Pray the courts don't fark this one up

2001-11-29 12:23:51 PM
She tells [hidden] camera: I don't support the 19th amendment and I would vote against it if I could.
She tells media: I deny saying such a thing and I fully support women voting.
"I am offended", she said.

Hmm... by what, though? What I gathered from the story is that she was just voicing her opinions unwittingly to a camera. So is she ashamed or offended by her opinions? Perhaps she puts on a big facade in order to be "popular" with the people when in fact she believes in something different (as evident from the article) enough she doesn't want the public to hear. Something seems wrong... politics.

2001-11-29 12:24:01 PM
Wulph, how about I come to your house and insult you and then have my buddy Baldrick edit the ensueing "fun" to make you look like an idiot? How about then I bring my "seeing-is-believing" tape to school and have hundreds of impressionable minds believe exactly what I edited the film for them to believe? How about I don't tell you this happened and don't even have enough respect for you to get your permission to be filmed? What would you pray for then?

2001-11-29 12:29:02 PM
Jeez...Vince Foster...yeah, yeah, heard it before, if you think the Clinton Death List was scary, try the Bush Body Count....

The next thing you know, they'll be preventing Ralph Nader from sitting in the audience at presidential candidate debates.

2001-11-29 12:31:33 PM
Y'know, I think the tape should be shown to all high school government classes in Kansas. Show the kids what happens when you elect morons to government.

Hell, in Texas we have a guy named Dick Armey who's a homopbhobe....I guess he got picked on a lot in school.

this was done on the man show once

2001-11-29 12:32:43 PM
3horn: I looked at the page and it lost me immediately:

"an inmate who claimed to have piloted George Bush to Paris" -- Yeah right, an SR-71 Blackbird pilot (the best in the world) is a prisoner. They had better come up with some better lies... these don't even pass the initial sniff-test.

2001-11-29 12:39:35 PM
Here's the scariest one from the "3horn Bodycount Page":

"3horn's 2nd-grade substitute teacher, who gave him a 'smiley-face' for his good work in coloring, died of unknown causes in 1999. She was immediately buried and no autopsy was performed."

2001-11-29 12:42:00 PM
Exactly Shuh....exactly...

I think he's learning about partisan accusations. Maybe?

2001-11-29 12:47:40 PM
But I have to agree with Affinity: "send this story in script form to Boston Public.
" Because that's the level mentality this kind of thing appeals to.

2001-11-29 12:49:16 PM
"these don't even pass the initial sniff-test."

Is that to say you believe those clinton death lists?

2001-11-29 12:51:58 PM
Divine: I never read the Clinton Death Lists. I didn't even know they existed. I do know when a trusted advisor commits "suicide" somewhere and is already about 4 pints short on blood, suicide is not in the cards.

2001-11-29 01:01:58 PM
If you are elected to office your privacy and slander threshholds go way down. That's ugly but true, whether or not you're saying dumbass things like a woman's right to vote is not such a good idea.

Boo Radley, Saraland, Alabama

2001-11-29 01:08:44 PM
Yeah, you're right Boo, you're an elected official -- you have no right to privacy -- it's been repealed just for you.

2001-11-29 01:11:09 PM
All politicians are either corrupt, stupid, deluded or mentally ill, and anyone who wants to become a politician should automatically be barred from the job by default.

The above site submitted by 3horn (triceratops?) is a bunch of pooh-pooh.

2001-11-29 01:16:23 PM
now this is a good example why politics is a waste of time. is the whole farkin system metally ill, or is it me?
make the elite obsolete!
we can run it all ourselves!

2001-11-29 01:18:13 PM
Hrmmm....Ironic isn't it? It's truth if it's about Clinton, it's a "bunch of pooh-pooh" if it's about Bush.

The bottom line, is that it's all a bunch of pooh-pooh...

Shuh: headshot wound result in a massive loss of blood. Just pull up the video of the old politician sucking on his .38. Amazing....

I don't care if she is a Republican or Democrat. No senator is going to say that women should not be able to vote. Especially if she is a woman. Especially when the press is there. Not even as a joke. No matter how big of a moron she is or isn't. The Star is full of sh!t. The lady is a dumbass for believing it.

2001-11-29 01:22:55 PM
If it was done by a reporter, by a political activist, by a member of NOW, even by a campaign staffer for the opposition, I'd agree, it's a legal thing to do. (We might argue over the ethics, but not the law.)

But when it's a teacher, bringing the tape into school, no way. For ANY government employee, the rules say no political activity. I don't think the school should be sued, but this teacher should be required to hand over the tape and then fired.

2001-11-29 01:26:27 PM
3horn -- headshot wounds do cause a massive loss of blood -- so why was there so little blood on the ground around VF? There was so little of it they didn't even file a HazMat report! Why would VF (a Democrat) shoot himself with an unregistered firearm? Why would he leave no fingerprints on his "suicide" letter?

2001-11-29 01:27:38 PM
"The taping was wrong, O'Connor said.
"I am offended," she said."

well that's well written.

2001-11-29 01:36:28 PM
Shuh: Answers I don't have, do you?

3Horn

2001-11-29 01:37:12 PM
Why would Clinton try to save money and hire some sorry-ass assassins then, who don't even take the most basic measures like putting VF's fingerprints on the suicide note, when he could pay someone $50k to make it look like an accident? That should be small potatoes to someone like Clinton if VF was really going to expose something damaging...

2001-11-29 01:56:12 PM
There are some damn strange things about how Foster was found, but it's a huge leap to "he was murdered" to say nothing of "The Clintons had him murdered".

2001-11-29 02:17:12 PM
Wasn't it in the best interest of our country to give women the right to vote?" Furtado asked the senator.

"Not necessarily so," O'Connor was quoted as saying.

that's hilarious... how are these people elected???

2001-11-29 02:24:11 PM
Don't be naive. Why would anyone sugar the VF case unless they had something to do with it? Kind of like how you never saw OJ out looking for the "real" killers...

2001-11-29 02:25:36 PM
He said the taping violated a Kansas privacy law that forbids "using outside a private place any device for hearing, recording, amplifying or broadcasting sounds originating in such place... without the consent of the person or persons entitled to privacy therein."

how stupid! so can i REPEAT anything this same person may have said to me? this is another farking law to protect politicians, judges and lawyers.

sorry, but if you hold a conversation with me, i have every right to take notes.

2001-11-29 02:45:10 PM
The recall effort stemmed from interviews printed in The Kansas City Star in which O'Connor said that she did not support the 19th Amendment, which guarantees women the right to vote, and that if it were being considered today she would vote against it.

Hmmm...

If it were being considered today, she wouldn't have the right to vote against it, would she? Odds are, she wouldn't be in office anyway, so it's moot.

This is akin to when Sirhan Sirhan said "If Mr. Kennedy were alive today, he would speak in my favor and say 'Let him go'."

2001-11-29 02:56:41 PM
"He said the taping violated a Kansas privacy law that forbids "using outside a private place any device for hearing, recording, amplifying or broadcasting sounds originating in such place... without the consent of the person or persons entitled to privacy therein."

So, assuming this law is iron-clad, would it apply if the tape showed her talking on the porch, not inside her house?
