Monday the 13th?

2013-05-14 01:08:02 PM
This wouldn't have happened if the student was armed as well

/Amidoinitrite?

2013-05-14 01:08:24 PM
Damn, I had the 17th, so close...

AirForceVet: Monday the 13th?

That movie wasn't very exciting. The killer was still really ragged out from the weekend and mostly just sat in his cubicle drinking coffee and checking his email.

there are no accidents with guns.

He wasn't a school security officer. He worked at the school, and had a second job as a security guard. I know, facts have never stopped a successful Fark headline before....

Guns and training must be so much better than the 60's.

Back then it took an entire Army to kill four students at Kent State.

Now it's down to just one uniform to wing a student.

Counter_Intelligent: Where were the good guys?

Since the student was in the schmuck's car at the time, I'm going with "riding shotgun"...

2013-05-14 01:55:06 PM
That's not what happened. I'm not saying it WON'T happen... but in this case that's not what happened.

Why do Obama's girls get more competent armed school guards than your kids do?

2013-05-14 01:56:11 PM
Yea, but the media didn't report about the thirty two trillion mass shootings that were stopped in that exact same minute by armed students in that town alone.

Farking media, I tell you what.

Read the article, guys. You're giving the shills and nuts a lot of fodder for their "libtard gun grabbers" rants which should appear in 3...2...

Part time security guard, full time idiot.

He's only a good guy when he's on duty.

2013-05-14 01:59:28 PM
According to KMGH-TV, a school employee who also has a second job as a security officer had offered a student a ride home at the end of the day. As the two sat in the officer's car, things started heating up, moving from gentle kisses into more heavy petting. Suddenly, the officer discharged, hitting the student in the leg, when the school employee tried to secure his weapon in the love box of the student.

2013-05-14 01:59:38 PM
If it was a "No Gun Zone" would not the students be protected?

2013-05-14 01:59:54 PM
Police did not say if the employee would face charges.

Charges would be extremely insensitive towards gun owners. They're a fragile bunch.

2013-05-14 02:00:13 PM
As a non-expert: If you can't put a gun into a glove compartment without shooting someone, you should not have a gun.

Question... is the glove compartment really where he should be storing the gun while driving? I honestly have no idea.

2013-05-14 02:01:23 PM
1. Why was the security guard giving a kid a ride home?

2. Why did he have a round chambered after he, presumably, went off duty?

3. How did the bullet hit the kid; assuming they were on opposite sides of the front, assuming the gun was pointed down?

/ me thinks Security Steve let the kid play with his weapon, in more ways than one

2013-05-14 02:01:44 PM

This isn't the 70's anymore, school employees just can't stick a kid in their car and drive away with him.

My cool 6th grade black teacher with a giant afro in the 70's gave me a ride home on the back of his motorcycle once. Coolest ride home ever.

/no he didn't molest me
//I was too ugly

derekdoubleut: If it was a "No Gun Zone" would not the students be protected?

So if a person gets shot on purpose in a "gun free zone" it's the fault of the zone because people couldn't carry guns to protect themselves.

If a person gets shot by accident in a "gun free zone" it's the fault of the zone because it doesn't stop guns.

Hmmm... I'm starting to detect a tiny hint of insincerity in the arguments and opinions proffered by the gun proponents....

It varies from state to state, but in general a loaded gun shouldn't be in the driver compartment.

Well obvious he should be arrested because he meant to do it because I have been told "Guns don't shoot people, people do".

I of course do not.  I am a gun owner, and I'm pretty sure I'm the only person to ever transport a gun in a Prius.   But odds are decent that the security officer is in some trouble over how he stored the pistol. I'm sure a Colorado farker will set me straight if I'm wrong.

The man took the student to a nearby hospital, where he was rushed into surgery with a "significant injury," police said.

The lesson here is: When the armed man giving you a ride home asks you if youn want to suck his dick, there's really only ONE acceptable answer...

And his car wasn't red, it was blue, and he was wearing Dockers and not Levis, and other errors that completely miss the point of the newsworthiness of the event.

Arming school security officers makes about as much sense as arming mall cops,

I worked for a company that did classified work and at one time they armed their "security officers" (I don't think the officers were ever involved in any situations beyond checking passes and maybe turning people away).

After several "gun incidents" the company got smart and took the guns away. (many of the incidents happened in the men's room - one guy shot out a mirror practicing quick draws and some guns went off when trousers were dropped.)
