No and no subby.

We really need to talk about this whole headline tag issue. Pronger is out forever. Henrik Sedin is out this year. we're not talking about the draft, and the Devils?

anyways I think I'll cheer for the Wings as the underdog, the Kings because f*ck the Sharks (and Team Darryl and Robyn), the Pens because Jerome and the Bruins.

good luck to the Sens and everything, as the only Canadian team left. but Iggy.

I love how the Pens' push for the Cup has been turned into a "do it for Jarome" marketing effort since the Q Score of every other player on their team is somewhere between Pol Pot and Jar Jar Binks

The Penguins are scary, but the playoffs is not the time to have goaltending issues.
I think the Senators take it in 7 games.

After last night, I'm looking forward to some stress free hockey viewing tonight... farking Bruins nearly gave me a heart attack last night. The soul-crushing lows. The dizzying highs. I need a break.

No dog in either of these games, so...

Go Sens and Go Sharks.

From Detroit winning over the Ducks to Boston besting the Leafs, it's been a pretty damn good playoff season so far in that entertainment department.

If round 2 keeps this pace I think I might have a heart attack

I have always liked Iginla, but unfortunately, he's on the wrong team.  I hate the Pens like some here hate the Rangers.  If I had to pick an eastern team, it'd be the Sens, simply for the underdog factor.

Hmmm, time for some round two belly button searching & facts pulled out of my butt prognostication:

Out West:

Sharks over Kings in 6 or 7, should be a good series (I was born/grew up in the Bay Area & the Kings are the crosstown rivals of my beloved (& apparently hapless) Ducks.  So even though the Sharks will probably stay true to form & implode during the playoffs, hopefully they can hold off  until next round to do so)

I don't expect it but I'd like to see the Red Wings take the series (it will take 7 if they can manage it).  More likely though it will be Chicago in 5.  (Can't stand Chicago (the city), nor Illinois in general so by default that makes me root for the Red Wings even though I do like Chicago (the team - just wish they were located somewhere else)

And in the East:

Penguins have the best chance for a sweep in this round, if not then they should take it in 5.  (like many here I have nothing but respect for Iginla & deeply wish he had picked a different team to make his run with.  The media's perpetual fellating of Crosby is so old & tired.  So I hope that they demolish Ottawa this round (after Alfie's antics 5 years ago I'll never root for the Sens, unless they happen to be playing a team lower on my scale like the Habs...oh wait)).

Boston will probably take the Rags to 6 but in the end the 'W' will belong to the boys from Beantown.  And after the way they came back last night the momentum is all with them, hopefully they use it well.

A night off to catch up on some sleep would have been nice, but HOCKEY.

/perhaps I can grab a couple hour nap before dinner/the games start

I can't argue with any of those picks.  A Sharks blow up is almost a given,  but hopefully not until next round, or even in the the Cup finals.  A SCF appearance would be amazing.  But as a Sharks fan since their inception, I know implosion is inevitable.  But the memory of 94, when #8 Sharks knocked off #1 Detroit in 7 will never let the hope die.

And you'll have plenty of time to sleep when you're dead.  This is Playoff Hockey!

as a Calgary fan who remembers the first round series vs. the Sharks in '95, I hope you will forgive me for bringing that up. and for continuing to hold a grudge against the Sharks since.

Agreed.  Most hockey fans I've met are decent people.  Most, but not all.  Grudges are a part of what makes hockey great.  Especially a 2OT game 7 grudge.  I hold no ill will towards the fans of other, even rival teams.  The teams themselves, however, can eat a bag of dicks.  No offense.

Spent last night driving back east from the Midwest with my jaw hitting the steering wheel listening to the Leaf meltdown.  I actually get to sit and watch hockey tonight...and as a bonus, I picked up some Tim Horton's on the way so I get to have a donut for dessert and real coffee in the morning.

That sets up the semis with the last four Cup winners.... not sure that's ever happened before.
