The proscription against defiling the dead goes back to the earliest days of civilization itself. It predates Judaism by (probably) 5000 years, and Christianity by a cool 10k. The Greeks wrote whole epics and plays about how terrible a thing dishonoring the dead is. Achilles, the hero of the Illiad, dies(to the most pathetic person in that story, Paris, no less) as an inevitable retribution to the dishonor he gave Hector's corpse. The Antigone is a story and later play about how shaming the dead is the biggest blasphemy humans can commit -worse than incest considering that the protagonist is a woman born of it- and how those who do such things not only anger the gods but pollute themselves with an amorality so great that no good deed can wipe it clean.

If you want to defile and shame the dead that's fine, but remember wanting to do so makes you the moral inferior of pretty much every human being who ever lived.

You seem to forget that it was a person from Virginia and a cemetery in Virginia that made it happen, when for more than a week there were many other states that refused to allow the burial. I am sure that there are groups of persons living in other states that would be complaining as well had he been buried there.

This is real "Home of the brave" patriotism, eh?

I can't imagine the level of cowardice needed to take up space in an "anti-Sharia" task force.  You've really got to be terrified of just about everything.

And, when you're terrified of just about everything, the terrorists have clearly kicked your asses.

I hate to say it, but I'm going to join them in laughing at these retards.

When I die you can defile my body any way you want - fark me in the ass with a broomstick, piss on my face, chop me into little bits and put me on the compost heap. I don't and won't give a shiat. This whole veneration of the dead body thing, viewings, elaborate funerals is just a load of bollocks.

Why can't these people be more like the woman that is the owner/manager/whatever of the cemetery that volunteered to take the body? She made a statement something like "Christ says you should forgive your enemies." I'm not Christian but I feel like I live my life more in line with Jesus's teachings (except for accepting him as my one true lord) than many of these supposed Christians...

It's close to midnight,
Something Muslim's lurkin' in the dark,
Under the moonlight,
You see a sight that almost stops your heart,

You try to pray,
Sharia takes the sound before you make it,
You start to freeze,
Muhammad looks you right between the eyes,
You're proselytized!

'Cause it's sharia,
Sharia law!

The weekend before last I was at a family function and I overheard someone complaining about the local 'Moslim' Cemetary (it is spelled moslim on the iron gates don't ask me why).

Person#1: So do they just wrap them in a blanket to bury them?
Person#2: Well i guess if it's a traditional burial then yeah.
Person#1: Why doesn't anybody stop them?
Person#2: Well it would be against their religious freedom.
Person#1:  They come over here and just do whatever they want, pretty soon we'll be forced to wear towels on our heads!

Meanwhile I'm trying really hard not to chip in and alienate my in laws. Person#2 (my father in law) was frantically trying to extricate himself from this conversation at this point. The depressing part is that lost of people were agreeing with Person#1 and the cemetery has been there way longer than their family has lived in the area.

Lafferty predicted the site will become a shrine for Islamic jihadists.

The branch of Islam that jihadis tend to follow is one that  destroys shrines. That's one reason why there was consternation about turning Bin Laden into fish food: his grave wouldn't become a shrine for followers because they don't believe in shrines.

Gotta love the t-shirt in the article too: applies to Christian law as well as Sharia, miss...

A couple or so years back, I watched my idiot home town debate over digging up Muslim graves just because they become frightened that the "towel head" Sunis might rise from the grave and kill them in their sleep... or something. I never really understood what they thought was going to happen. That was for a peaceful community. Rednecks up in arms are frightening in their ignorance.

Yeah, but it'll be a while before that happens. The Muslim from Tsarnaev  hasn't seeped into the groundwater yet and they can't just transport the Masjid al-Haram onto non jihadi consecrated soil. That stuff takes years.
