Yes, we know they're idiots.  Are you preemptively calling out the tards, lets just ignore them.

Something wrong with the spiffy tag, smitty? Darwin would be tickled that a) his theory was largely correct and b) science had extended it by adding new information and modeling.

/this is science
//it works

Basically Darwin was right about coral-reef formation though today we can give more complex story.

Well duh.

I sure hope that in 2013, we can add more details of what happened then Darwin could could in the 1830s.

If evilution is true, why are there still worms and bugs? You think with billions of years you'd think they would all have the chance to at least evolve into dogs, if not an even better animal.

Ned Stark: If evilution is true, why are there still worms and bugs? You think with billions of years you'd think they would all have the chance to at least evolve into dogs, if not an even better animal.

Here are three common questions that are asked about the current theory of evolution:
How does evolution add information to a genome to create progressively more complicated organisms? How is evolution able to bring about drastic changes so quickly? How could the first living cell arise spontaneously to get evolution started?

Coral grows slowly there, because the ocean is colder than in the tropics.

So global warming would be good for coral if it didn`t acidify the ocean?

Read up in noches, alsi the miuntaon of evilutoin. They are just stuck blond on a hollick tryong ti gi up the miuntaon...

See how stupid you look swapping an o for an i? That`s you that is, looking illiterate...

The answer to your question is fairly basic. In simple terms it is best described as though each creature gives birth to two offspring, one is better at surviving and one is less able. They are higher and lower on the mountain of evolution. Every creature goes uphill as it evolves to its environment. The mountain is not smooth and there are niches in it, like little hills. If you are blind and trying to walk uphill you will get stuck on a hillock on the mountain of evolution because you think you are at the peak.

I`ll turn that about. If evolution is NOT true then how do you exist?

Nobody in their right mind would make you on purpose...

WORD synonyms for spontaneous:
impulsive
unprompted
spur-of-the-moment
natural
artless
unstructured
unplanned

Are you suggesting that it was.....deliberate, supernatural and planned?

Interesting how one can accept both that idea and the ideas of a 4 billion year old universe and of evolution.

No he's saying it didn't just happen all of a sudden.  There was plenty of organic matter on Earth before there were organisms.  The question is how exactly that happened, and that is being studied in the field of abiogenesis.  It's completely unrelated to evolution, which is why creatards keep using it.

The great thing about science is that it doesn't pretend to have all the answers.  You've asked a real question and there's a lot of interesting debate and hypothesizing about how the first cell came to be. I personally like any theory involving selective binding of organic molecules to volcanic substrate.  Not for a science reason, I just think it sounds cool.  Anyway, lack of knowledge about one thing does not disprove what is known about another.

Whatever evolved into a living cell was already pretty structured and cells did not happen when reality just made them on the spur of the moment so I would say that for that reason it was not spontaneous.

More importantly it is a word that describes an emotional state which implies a creator and is a trick question designed to elicit a confirmation of a creator or a denial of evolution.

Either a cell arose spontaneously (wrong) or it was planned supernatural and deliberate (wrong)

The best answer is to deny that the cell arose spontaneously as it contains the least error but it is the question itself that is incorrect especially as it implies that a cell did by asking how it did it.

A better question would be "did a fully formed cell arise instantly with no precursor, and if so, how" to which the answer would be "It did not, there was a precursor"

Believes in God. Believes in Evolution. Knows the Earth is billions of years old. It isn't incomprehensible. Was proud of my Daughter for defending science in a class where a teacher was trying to sneak in creationism. Also proud when she stands up to atheist professors proselytizing. When in a position if authority you shouldn't try to force your beliefs or lack thereof on people.

Actaully, I know it from repeated tests and actual observation.  So no, you do not know the bible to be true the same way I know evolution is true.  We know evolution is true because not only have we seen evolution occur (antibiotic resistant bacteria), we've actually tested the theory in the lab (the e. coli experiments come to mind).

As for the bible, you have....what, exactly?

Creationists accuse scientists of pulling ideas out of their asses and foisting them on the rest of us. Why? They lack the imagination to conceive of anything more sophisticated. They presume everyone else is a proudly ignorant propagandist, because that is the most they can aspire to be.
