I LOVE this use of technology. For every use of technology to help people live and be well, my hope for humanity grows a little bit more.

Quantum Apostrophe: Iknhaton: QA, do you get a text message set to IMPORTANT every time a Fark headline with "3D printer" goes green?

Yes, I need a break from my busy life of banging supermodels.

I just wonder what happened to VR. I thought all these gloopy real world objects and moving parts were passé.

"Because you've got a three-
dimensional problem," she says. "What we're all trying to do is reconstruct how far away X and Y are. But now you can just take [the model], and hold it, and look at it, and say, 'Oh, they're that far away.' "

I think you're a gloopy real world object with moving parts and quite passé .

"The cardiac anatomy of this patient is very rare," said Olivieri. "And it's not like there's an FDA-designed device that will solve it." The model allowed her to "look at the anatomy in 3-D and do some practice runs where the patient isn't involved."

I think you're a plastic blob.

I was hoping they were actually printing full scale models of the patients hearts before procedures, and it was nice to see they were doing that.
