Meh, due dates are just a suggestion. My guy was ten days late.

So Kate will be crowning sixty years after the Queen?

A girl born on July 4th (now that the queen got rid of male priority) would be kind of cool. Would also be third in line for the throne I believe.

Subby has obviously never met an old lady expecting the arrival of a new (great-)grand child.

Two weeks before or after would be interesting -- Diana's birthday or wedding day.

baltimoreblonde: I just want Kate's baby born before Kimye's spawn. It'll seem like an afterthought, and really piss Kim off that her thunder got stolen.

THIS!!!

As LIncoln said, "It is altogether fitting and proper" that the child of an intelligent, beautiful and graceful woman gets ALL the magazine covers rather than the crotch-dropping of a vapid, gross, greedy AW.  I really hope Kim K's embarrassing pregnancy will not yield the payoff she planned.

/Why yes!  I do enjoy schadenfreude with my cereal!

So very true. The doctors told my mom I was due on June 21st, I was born on July 22nd. I think she's still a little bitter about that 10 month thing. The thing being me and she's told me that she didn't think I was ever going to get out of her body.

I'm surprised that they let the pregnancy go that long.  The information that I got in baby class was you get about 2 weeks past the due date and then they sharpen their scalpels.  After that babies will actually start to shrink and can have serious problems.

I only know about this from what my mom has told me, I was pretty young at the time. I was a pretty small baby, it's not like I was becoming a toddler in there. The docs figured I needed more time so they let it go. Also this was 1969 so while they could, and did induce labor it wasn't quite as common then as it is now. It seems they made the right call. I was born healthy and the delivery was trouble-free. However I have also been a pretty small human (5'6" 130 lbs as an adult) all my life so who knows. Maybe I did shrink in that last month???

Unless they've scheduled for a surgeon to cut it out of her, due dates can vary by weeks in either direction. I was born two weeks early.
