fatalvenom: fatalvenom: xiola: sno man: xiola: I guess all the leafs fans will cheer for the Sens, or as I like to call them Canada's TeamTM?

I'd be more inclined to cheer for the B's

You know, even as a Sens fan I wanted the leafs to win that game since they were dominating and outskating the bruins.  The leafs earned the win.  And I was ok with it.
But you've just reminded me again that Leafs fans are the worst fans in the world.  Sore losers, not hockey fans and definitely not patriots.   Like other leaf fans, you probably won't even watch hockey anymore.  If you did, you wouldn't know any other player's names, just like Bob Cole. You didn't cheer for Vancouver or Calgary or Edmonton or Mtl when they were in the finals.   And you'll boo Alfie and not even know why.
That's why I can say fark the leafs.  The league's biggest choke artists for 47 years.   Leafs and their fans definitely suck.

That's a load of shiat bro.

Just because someone is from Canada, it's not required for them to root for a Canadian team to win the Cup.

If you wanna talk about "sore losers" and "non-patriots"...it's idiot, narrow-minded Canadians like yourself who keep the NHL a provincial sport, and then you cry when ESPN doesn't give it enough coverage.

Then when they do..."NOT ENOUGH CANADA!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!".

If there is any reason to blame for the lack of understanding of the game of hockey...it's douche-bags like you.

Just realized I'm a bit drunk and might have went a bit harsh on ya....sorry.

I was just gonna say - don't use your legitimate argument on me FV,    Can't you see I'm busy trolling Leafs fans??!!

Potential inebriation aside, I do like this point... the others not so much. I rooted for the Bruins (despite my general blood hatred on most days) in 2011 against the Canucks, and it pissed me off to no end when people were getting on my case about "not supporting Canada's team" or some sh*t. Mind you, it got worse when B's fans who were also friends of mine started chiding "my team" for losing...

/I for one would LOVE to see greater hockey coverage in the States

The "Canada's team" BS (seriously stated, not just for trollin') is like a flag that says "I'm a Casual Hockey Fan!". The only thing that unites Canadian hockey fans is their hatred of some other rival Canadian team. Ottawa and Toronto fans came together this year in the hopes of seeing Montreal fans weep. Calgary and Edmonton fans were on the Sharks bandwagon. Every non-Leafs fan in the country was hoping the Bruins would pull through tonight. Winnipeg kind of upset the balance but I'm sure we'll figure that out eventually.

Fark this "Canada's team" nonsense. At least a third of the 'real' Canadian hockey fans will be actively cheering against any Canadian team at any given time.

I've yet to find a Canadian who gives a fraction of a shiat what ESPN does or doesn't do. It doesn't exist up here.

Well you have TSN...and their main objective is hockey.

ESPN's main objective is the NFL.

And then the NBA, MLB, NASCAR, POKER, LeBron, Jeter, Tennis, Tiger Woods, Sandusky, Jimmy Johnson, some half legged bi-athelete, Lance Armstrong's one ball.

Oh, and some chick rolled a 299 in some bowling tournament on Sunday.

But, some teams from Boston and New York won some game of some sort of importance to determine something that we (ESPN) can't get Flo from Progressive or some idiot to steal your money with a sham wow to talk about.

Well, America hates white people and hockey. White guilt is a pain in the ass.

Advertisers can't deal with it. Sell me some more energy shots and over priced sneakers.

Why would anyone want to advertise a product that might mean a shiat anymore?

What a completely farked up foreign concept.

I'm sure ad buys are big business to TSN, Sportsnet, etc, but they definitely seem interested in competing on content. It's kind of weird to me that there isn't a strong second network in the US.

AMEN.

This is how rediculous that concept is:

"Hey, fatalvenom...the Bruins lost to *†*** the other night. Are you going to support the terrorists, or go with 'Merica. FARK YEAH"!!!!

"Well, I'd like to see good hockey...."

"Fark that...you Americans don't understand shiat about the game. Don't you know 99.9% of NHL players come from Canada? Go eat beef jerky and fark your sisters."

"Oh, well...where did you play hockey, Sir"?

"I'm from Canada...I shiat hockey"

"Where did you play?"

"Want a Molson, eh?"

You'd be surprised... although luckily for me, cases of such appear few and far between in my region. For what it's worth, I played 10 years, but I still have to look up at least a few things per season upon mention in Fark hockey threads.

I thought the Leafs played a great series, just came up a little short.  They'll be better next year, and the epic collapse will be forgotten.  As a Sharks fan, I have lots of experience in that area.

I didn't reply last night because I thought I might say something in the heat of the moment that I'd regret in the morning.  I really didn't need to wait.  Patriotism is irrelevant "but Canada" is a weak excuse to support a team, and yea I'll still watch, perhaps not as enthusiastically, without a stick in the fire.  As for Vancouver and Montreal, neither plays a style of game I like to watch, and the parade of excuses after every loss is tough to take.  Ottawa has earned my respect this year for not caving in with all the injuries, and it is from that respect that I can still "Boo" Alfie for that poor taste joke about Matt Sundin's very out of character stick toss.  Check with OL for the rest of the laundry list of reasons to "Boo" Alfredson.  Say "fark the Leafs" all you like, just respect my choice to say "meh the Sens".  The Leafs have mustly sucked for nearly as long as I've been alive, but they have not been the biggest choke artists in that time frame, if you were as big a HOCKEY fan as you claim to be, you would know that.

Great photo... Not because it's Leafs' fans in despair (as sports' fans, we've all been there at one time or another), but because of the raw emotion of the moment it captures.

While I'm ecstatic the Bruins found a way to win, I know how much that series win would have meant to Toronto.

Same with Bruins/Rangers... Doesn't start until Thursday.

Good news for the Bruins' depleted defense... Love to get Ference and Seidenberg back for the start of the series. Redden , too.

I think Redden has been a good addition to the roster, myself.

That's the only part that I'm sad about. Toronto is a good city, and you hate to see passionate fans take it on the chin like this.

Outside of guy in the beginning, that's about as a polite and as even keeled of a reaction, over a devastating loss, as you will ever see. Good on you Toronto.
In the moment I know I would have lost my shiat for about 10-15 minutes.

Still amazed at how the Leafs managed to lose that game. I'm glad the Bruins got the W, but they didn't deserve it. Glad Seguin got a helper on the Bergy OT goal. Thanks, Kessel.

The beginning of the fun was the 67-68 expansion season, and that Fat Fark Ballard actually selling the farm. Because the expansions fees weren't enough gravy that year...
FFS! how can you have any success with an expansion draft picking off a bunch of players and no farm team to fill in the resulting blanks?  The Hockey Gods have not yet finished punishing us for those sins... soon.
