I stopped paying attention to the game after the Leafs made it 4-1. Went away to clean one part of the house and to screw around with Wargame: ALB.

Holy fark.

Are you trying to tell me that fans of a losing team are complaining about officiating? Say it ain't so.

marchand slewfooting reimer
Kellys elbow that broke JVRs nose
Bruins fans littering the ice with towels
marchand on the bench thowing a water bottle on the ice

Those were all deliberate things they got away with

The slewfooting(you can just call it tripping), I didn't see.
As for Kelley's elbow, that's the way it goes. He fell on him, pinning him offsides. I would have tossed an elbow to get you off me too.
The towels, well, it's the playoffs, and after that comeback.... Not that I condone it, but had they awarded a PP and that was a game winner, those refs (and the Leafs) would have needed a police escort to Logan.

Oh, and Marchand throwing the water bottle - he was trying to get the ref's attention because some debris fell on the ice, and better to get it off before play starts.

I thought the Mounties wore red

no mounties in ontario. We have the OPP Ontario provincial police

lol

the RCMP does not provide provincial or municipal policing in either Ontario or Quebec

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Canadian_Mounted_Police

Correct, as per your link. However, they do provide policing in those provinces, as per your same link. Which makes your comment "no mounties in ontario" very much incorrect. Which is not unusual for you.

I would stay away from the 400 section and most of the "new" 200 section (they combined 300s and 400s in the renovation) as a B's fan if I were you.

Pffft. Who needs the power play when you're scoring 5 even strength goals in Game 7?

somehow toronto fans ignore the plethora of holds/slashing the leafs were doing all night.  but hey...lets ignore the fact they didnt call a lot on both sides.
but sorry....some shiat on the ice doesnt change the outcome of the game.

The PP is the only thing that shut down the Ranger's offense.

It's still been an annoying 19 years of awful power plays. Things get thrown and that shouldn't happen with a man advantage.

Also, we can't exactly rely on freaking Asham and Pyatt to be goal scorers each game.

Brassard and Eminger are doing amazing work, though. Add Playoff Boyle to the mix and we have a shot. Maybe someone will tell Gaborik to take that Nash jersey off and the player we traded for can finally take the ice?

Well, my East bracket is even more thoroughly shot than my West bracket.

My non-wizardly predictions:
Penguins in 5
Habs in 7
Caps in 6
Leafs in 7

Actual results:
Penguins in 6
Sens in 5
Rangers in 7
Bruins in 7

Good thing I didn't have any money riding on this.

Yes, their PP has been horrific, but they've gotten some decent shots off. Like Lundqvist said, all they needed was lucky bounce here or there (paraphrase).

Poor Gabby. I really liked him, but I love the players we got in that deal.

First, Toronto and Boston... stick taps to both teams. Toronto for coming back from down 3-1 in the series. Boston from coming back from 4-1 down in the game.

Second, the daily schedule for this week (link goes to full schedule).

Tuesday: OTT-PIT, SJ-LA
Wednesday: DET-CHI
Thursday: NYR-BOS, SJ-LA
Friday: OTT-PIT
Saturday: DET-CHI (1pm ET), SJ-LA
Sunday: NYR-BOS (3pm ET), PIT-OTT

This. Redden was in the AHL due to the REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-goddamn-diculous contract Sather gave him. Not because he actually belonged there.

Glad to see him playing a part in Boston. Between him, Kelly, Chara and the Daug, it's hard not to cheer for them. Until they play Ottawa, at least.

I don't think goaltending is the problem there. Reimer might not be a superstar, but that's not the Leafs' problem.

it's defense.

Having watched Wade in person too many times to count, he definitely, absolutely, positively belonged there while he was in NY. Not as much as Gomez, but not too far from it either.

I will still be laughing when I see him on the ice and don't have to worry about him playing for my team.

Redden was a victim of his contract and age.  Teams like the Rangers and the Leafs, with very deep pockets can do that. That he scored the buy-out early and got the 800ish k contract that the B's could afford to basically bury all year mostly continued to suck for him other than for his bank account.

I guess all the leafs fans will cheer for the Sens, or as I like to call them Canada's TeamTM?

My first round bracket:

The West:

Chicago
Kings
Red Wings
ugh-Sharks I guess

The East:

It doesn't matter in honesty, I would have picked the Pens and Bruins. prolly the Habs, and seriously, NYR-WSH doesn't matter.

2013-05-14 12:14:18 AM
Well, that's every team I'm the slightest bit enthusiastic about off golfing. Go Jarome, Lundqvist, Shorks, and refs.

2013-05-14 12:15:26 AM
My second round picks:

Blackhawks
Kings
Pens
Bruins

I bet Detroit gives CHI a hell of a series though.

Pretty much EVERYONE gets a goal/OT/anything that Oprah gives away except for OL.

I'd be surprised if his mother would even slide him a case of the Herp.

In any event....I'm glad that the rational folks here are enjoying this. Did any of you think the Bruins would score 2 goals in less than a minute? I sure as hell didn't.

I love all of you free-thinking rational people. And...

You know, even as a Sens fan I wanted the leafs to win that game since they were dominating and outskating the bruins.  The leafs earned the win.  And I was ok with it.
But you've just reminded me again that Leafs fans are the worst fans in the world.  Sore losers, not hockey fans and definitely not patriots.   Like other leaf fans, you probably won't even watch hockey anymore.  If you did, you wouldn't know any other player's names, just like Bob Cole. You didn't cheer for Vancouver or Calgary or Edmonton or Mtl when they were in the finals.   And you'll boo Alfie and not even know why.
That's why I can say fark the leafs.  The league's biggest choke artists for 47 years.   Leafs and their fans definitely suck.

That's a load of shiat bro.

Just because someone is from Canada, it's not required for them to root for a Canadian team to win the Cup.

If you wanna talk about "sore losers" and "non-patriots"...it's idiot, narrow-minded Canadians like yourself who keep the NHL a provincial sport, and then you cry when ESPN doesn't give it enough coverage.

Then when they do..."NOT ENOUGH CANADA!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!".

If there is any reason to blame for the lack of understanding of the game of hockey...it's douche-bags like you.

Nah, no riots. The subway did smell of alcohol and sadness though (wasn't watching the game - got off work seconds after Boston's OT goal).

Perhaps Toronto will take after Habs fans and only riot if/when they ever win something.

I've yet to find a Canadian who gives a fraction of a shiat what ESPN does or doesn't do. It doesn't exist up here.
