So they get to find out that the ending will be lackluster and disappointing, just like this season has been overall, a week before the rest of us?  Poor bastards.

Honestly, the "story arc", such as it is, has been horrible.  And no one who isn't Steven Moffat gives a damn about "who is the Doctor, and what's his real name?"

Spend less time on being clever, and more time on producing quality scripts.

I usually wait till the end of the season and download all the episodes to watch (I hate waiting for a week to see part 2 of something). Thanks for giving me something to look forward to. = (

It's just one person on the internet. No need to let that spoil it for you. I've only seen what's on Netflix and have enjoyed each season so far even though so many people say they hate different episodes or companions or whatever.

I thought he was spot-on.  And having an opinion that doesn't agree with yours completely is "the reason why we can't have nice things" now?  Uh-oh!  I don't agree with you, either!  Now nobody ever will have any nice things for the rest of time!

Nice job breaking the entire universe, me.

[SPOILERS]

- The Doctor's name is Bradley H. Johnson, DDS.

- Clara is the most specialest, importantest girl in all the universe, just like Donna, Rose, River, and Sharon.

- David Tennant is still better than Matt Smith.

- The Doctor is still an asexual humanoid alien.

With all due respect, I for one am farked off that Matt Smith is leaving who...

After watching Nightmare in Silver yesterday, finally I love Smiths Doctor, the benign but maniacal element he has been playing this season has been both captivating to watch..and kept me watching...(I've drifted in and out during his tenure to be fair)...

So I understand why he is going, but I wish we could have more at the same time.

Anyhow, as for the plot lines, and story arcs...enjoy it...it's Dr Who, it's not meant to be serious...some episodes are harder to get into than others, and some have been conveniently remedied with too much wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff...but enjoy it for what it is :)

Really?  Pointing out that this season has been slow and disappointing ruins the world for you?  Talk about a low bar.

During the Moffat-era, we've had one season of the Amy Pond Show, one season of the River Song Show, and one season that seems to be marking time with no clear direction.  Say what you will about the RTD seasons, but at least the Doctor tended to be the central focus of his own series.

I kind of have to agree with this.  The last few seasons have been overly-gimmicky, hedging all their bets on one big "omg shockingest thing evar!"  It's being written like it's in its death throes, tossing in things like weddings and babies and shocking revelations that shows tend to do when they're floundering for ratings, which Doctor Who isn't (or at least shouldn't be).  A lot of people nowadays seem to be watching the show merely as overseers checking to make sure they don't fark anything else up, rather than because what's being presented is actually enjoyable.

Instead of being gimmicky, it really needs to focus on having solid scripts, internal consistency, and well-thought-out storylines.  If they want to have an "amazing revelation", why not tackle something already established but not explained, like fleshing out the Time War or something.  Instead we get "zomg the Doctor's going to die in this season!" (except he doesn't), or "zomg we're going to learn the Doctor's name this season!" (except I'm 99% sure we won't).  They need to start having stories that A) Don't end in a cop-out, and B) Don't completely destroy established continuity by not being a cop-out.

It's be Bob.

It's a sacred name.

And I've enjoyed this season. Neil Gaiman did something that hadn't happened in the entire New Series for me: Wrote a Cyberman episode that I actually enjoyed. (Although Warwick Davis has a part in that.) And Crimson Horror and Hide were two of my favorite episodes in the entire New Series as well. So...man, whatever. You're entitled to your opinion, of course...no matter how wrong you are.

Yay! Thank you guys!

Told you I was a floating in and out type person...but more sinister Dr Who, has to be a good thing :)

Also Neil Gaiman did really well with Nightmare in Silver...first episode of Dr Who, that has 'shiat my inner child up' for a long long time.

Even if it was basically just an episode of ST:TNG with the Borg, replanted in the Dr Who universe.

And if you took this device to a shop and had it rebuilt, would it be considered retardised?

I was really disappointed by the Doctor's remarks in the latest episode about Clara being "a mystery wrapped in an engima squeezed into a skirt that's a little too tight." The Doctor doesn't see his companions like that. The Doctor's attraction is on an emotional level, not a physical one. The Doctor should be nonsexual and silly with all of his female companions.
Otherwise, the Doctor really loses his enigma and gets dragged down into places he shouldn't go.

They're forcing the "Clara is super mysterious" bit.

One of the slight problems I had with season 1 was that the Doctor was so infatuated with Rose.  It led him in Father's Day to do some things that I thought were totally out of character (but subsequent episodes which showed the situation more clearly kind of ironed that out).

There has been a lot more kissy and there has been a lot more sexyness on the new series.  It's different but a little bit more needed because of what is expected at this period of time.  I doubt that today's audience would buy a sexless doctor like we saw in the 60s,70s, and 80s.

Doctor Who hasn't had a 24 episode season since the classic series. This season just seems short because they split it into a "goodbye to the Ponds" half last fall and a "hello to Clara" half for this spring. Even though it all is series 7, it feels like two short seasons instead of one regular length season.

If you believe River Song's insinuations, she's been rocking his world off-camera. He also should remember that he's a married man when he's around the companions.

So... is their marriage nullified the next time he regenerates?
