FTFA: I suspect that if I confronted these narrow-minded people, my words would have no effect. So, rather than using the attackers' actions to beat myself up, I just prove them wrong. The camera gave me my voice.

So, the camera makes her... sound fat?

Please don't green this 3 week old repeat.

Maybe you're trying to draw attention to yourself by wearing tank-tops where everyone else is wearing sleeves/coats.
Maybe you're also pasty white and dressed in awkward, hipster fashion.
Maybe you're dressed like an American stereotype in Barcelona.

It's sad that people are so judgmental, but rigging up an 'experiment' by amplifying your notoriety (wearing ill-fitting/ugly/unseasonal clothes) is not real proof of anything. It's wallowing and it's not helping you.

Have you tried not being so fat?

On same page....

Meh, all she has done is invite more ridicule via internet.

2013-05-13 08:10:00 AM
WTF is wrong with her legs in that picture? Is that a side-effect of hypothyroidism? Or is she just standing-leaning?

Good for her, BTW.

2013-05-13 08:15:04 AM
Obese woman trolls skinny people douchebags.

She probably runs into hundreds of people thinner than her on a daily basis who don't even notice or react to her at all. But those douchebags always ruin it for everyone.

2013-05-13 08:36:39 AM
Worst case of pigeon toe I ever saw

Eventually, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Though I did go through phases of food restriction and over-exercise, I came to realize that I shouldn't punish myself for something I can't control.

Weight gain is a symptom of hypothyroidism (mostly due to excess accumulation of salt and water), but it is nowhere near as pronounced as weight gain from hyperthyroidism. Typically we're about 5-10 pounds of extra body weight that can be attributed to the condition.

2013-05-13 08:39:47 AM
Fat biatch is fat.

2013-05-13 08:55:41 AM
It is not good for you to be that big. Do yourself a favor and eat right and work out.

20 bucks says "food restriction" means getting the medium combo instead of the large, and "over-exercise" means taking the stairs instead of the elevator.

repeat, IIRC.

And, if understand what she is doing, she stands/sits there with her camera set-up pointed at her and taking pictures - and she posts the ones where people actually give her what she is looking for. She's set up a giant LOOK AT ME beacon for herself and is outraged that people are obliging. Point in case, the police officer. Look at that picture. He's mugging it up for the camera.

To do this correctly, you would have to not have the camera obviously there. Then you would capture honest mockery.

These, and... she's doing this in Barcelona. People in other countries tend to not get so.... large.

That's what I've noticed.  But it's like they save their fat up for a very few people that skew the average.  You walk around for a few days and everyone you see is relatively "normal" as far as weight is concerned then all of a sudden you see some behemoth that can't fit on the metro.

2013-05-13 09:34:25 AM
Even if she lost the weight, she'd still be ugly as shiat.

2013-05-13 09:37:26 AM
I actually do feel sorry for this woman but it doesn't have anything to do with her weight. It's pretty obvious that she's mentally ill.

When I started college, there was no more soccer and my weight ballooned from a size 7 to a size 14 in weeks.

Hahahaha biatch you gave up. I can't think of a single college that doesn't have a gym. Or you could run. Or you could do the thousands of other physical activities that go on at college.

All throughout college without HS track to keep me up I just ran almost everywhere. Really not hard.

/I say as I've been lazy the past few months and have gained 7 pounds.

2013-05-13 09:53:54 AM
I think the people are staring not because of her fat, but that she's standing still in busy places for no reason and looking weird. Fat or skinny, that's gonna get you some looks.

Go be pouty (and fat) somewhere else, sow.

My struggle Mein kampf with my body started after I graduated high school

2013-05-13 09:55:16 AM
To be fair, they wouldn't mock you if you weren't a drain on the medical system due to your lack of self-control.

2013-05-13 09:55:22 AM
She's making the point that assholes are everywhere and apparently have gotten brave enough in today's society to demonstratively make fun of total strangers in public.

2013-05-13 09:56:07 AM
I guess I don't read malice into those photos.  I see one "Look at this woman that is in our attempted tourist snap"  one "Where did you get that pudding, I want that pudding." a "We're bored of walking the beat and trying to create some joy, oopsie we got a  joyless scowler on our hands" and one, "I am looking at the creepy Times Square Elmo behind you that is yelling out obscenities at the confused tourists that didn't tip him but somehow you will make this about your weight."

Not every whose eyes are pointed in your general direction in the middle of a city is looking at you, you self important twit.

IdBeCrazyIf

Even if she lost the weight, she'd still be ugly as shiat.

This, and she has a shiatty attitude. 2/3 of her problem can be fixed

2013-05-13 09:56:50 AM
But these people are only trying to help her. By mocking her, they're providing much-needed motivation for her to work harder to become skinny and beautiful.

2013-05-13 09:57:18 AM
I think I've actually seen some of her work.  She's a pretty accomplished photographer.

Yeah, there's obviously still a difference between what Rubens (or in this case, Francois Boucher - probably?) liked and what she's like.

2013-05-13 09:57:42 AM
Half of these pictures it doesn't even look like someone is staring at her.

2013-05-13 09:58:29 AM
Fat people normally stand with their feet pointing outward, as a way for them to maintain more balance due to the extra load they carry.

This pigeon-toed shiat and the dumpy clothes is forced and looks really stupid. People aren't mocking her for being fat. They're mocking her for deliberately posing like a spaz in front of an obviously-placed camera.

Hero tag is very amusing but expected by now.

Three cheers for people who decry the terrible oppression of what other people think about them

Well, whatever floats your supertanker...

Because you have opinion about it validates it that she is in fact making art. Good/Bad? Emotion is what makes it art.

2013-05-13 10:01:06 AM
Yeah, not seeing it. It seems like anyone performing any random action near her is taken as ridicule. This woman acts a lot like my wife.

Or a WalMart.

So, a precious few people she encounter show genuine signs of disgust or judgement on their faces (not counting the cop thing, that's just douchebaggery but what do you expect?) and not even to her face and suddenly overweight people are all victims? As a former fat person, I'm pretty sure that most of the judgement and victimization that happens on a daily basis is in the person's head, at least after high school. There are simply too many overweight adults out there.  No one cares what you look like. Not even at the gym.

And to the classical painting point, many classic models weren't "fit" by today's standards but I think Ruben may have been the only noteworthy painter to paint "obese" models. Only a few of his models had bellies.

My cat has hyperthroidism. It made her loose a bunch of weight before we got her on the right dose of medicine.

It also made her a whinny biatch.

It's somewhere around one in four hypertyroid cases that actually gain weight as a result of the condition, this apart from the weight gain often associated with treatment.

So - let's make ourselves look as bad as possible and then take photos of reactions.  How self indulgent can you be

Why not also set up photo shots where you are in a subway car, cut loose with a rancid fart and then people move away because they are not "accepting" of your scent?

This. I avoided the freshman spread by not having a car and having to walk everywhere. Wasn't hard.
