No. The Red Sox usually lead the Division up to the All-Star Break, if not having one of the best records in baseball. It's after the All Star break when they really start sucking and find all the different ways to lose games.

LessO2: You mean they're living up to the expectations set before the season started?

The preseason expectations for the AL East from most of the ESPN experts were Blue Jays or Rays in first place and Orioles last place. Because, you know, the Orioles last season were a complete fluke and couldn't continue to win 1-run games in extra innings and the Jays had the "best off-season ever"™ or at least since the Angels from last year.  Too bad the expectations of spring training are wrong so often.  It's still early however so even the Blue Jays may start living up to their Spring Training hype.

NO!
What sucks about being in the al east is that everyones good, despite what the 'experts' say.  Also have to play san fran and atlanta in the next couple of weeks.  So yeah, might still be nine or so games out for the next little while unfortunately.

Yeh, that's the ticket.

Moron.

A completely new team with pitchers adjusting to the American league could never gel. The season's short after all.

Last week Boston beat Toronto in all 3 sports and they were all saying #BostonStrong. Toronto beats Boston in hockey and baseball tonight.. but we dare not say we're stronger cause we'd be capitalizing on their tragedy as if they aren't doing that themselves.

2-game losing streak. In May. Nice troll, subs.

I wanted to submit this with the headline dempster fire, not some stupid extrapolation from two games.

Anyways, jays are starting to look better. Just got to hope morrow makes a healthy start, Johnson comes back and shakes off his early performances, and maybe keep this AA guy around for one more start. Any thing is better than Ricky ro right now

2-8 in their last 10 games.

It would take a lot of work, but they can still get on track for last year's blistering win pace.

That's what happens when people discover you're cheating and you have to play by the rules. It'll be a Yankees/O's division for many, many years to come.

It's amazing what you can do with two steroid users in the middle of a lineup.

Yes, a season where they had to come back from down 0-3 in ALCS. That happens so often in baseball it's totally worth mentioning when comparing seasons.

"Come at me bro"  ? what time is Recess and aren't you late for it?

someone else wants to make a PED joke about the Sox (or yet again, another way they're cheating - but a guy in the stands relaying signs for the Jays is not cheating, right?) and I make one back.  settle down your come at me crap slick.

...you took an Internet meme joke threat seriously?

And if you honestly believe the man in white bs...I don't even know. Face palm I guess. Somehow that same guy got the signs to Joey twice yesterday at Fenway!

The Man in White! Hahaha.

The Red Sox: Steroids, pitchers using foreign substances on the mound, the franchise faking a sellout streak.

The Blue Jays: A mysterious Man in White sitting in center field relaying signals.

Hilarious.

They'll stay in first if they can at least split today's double-header in Cleveland (rest of the AL East is off today, 1-0 Tribe after one)

I'm curious though.. who exactly on the Yankees current lineup do you suspect of juicing, or are you just making a weak barb?

It's a good thing Manny and Ortiz never got popped for steroids in 2003...oh wait.....

The entire 2004-2007 run was fueled by heavy steroid users and New Englanders couldn't care less about it.

Are you really trying to infer the Red Sox was the only team with players using steroids, and only during that period? And if you want to pick on a scumbag fanbase, let's talk about the Steelers and who the current QB is and how fans feel about him despite what he has done? Steroid freaks Manny and Big Papi only hurt themselves with their drug abuse. Big Ben went way beyond that.
