loki see loki do: I hope Bowie digs it.cool.
Popcorn Johnny: Hey subby, you know how I know you've been on reddit today?
Archimedes' Principal: Popcorn Johnny: Hey subby, you know how I know you've been on reddit today?Subby could have been watching TWiT.tv this afternoon too. That's where I first saw it./ not subby.
Christian Bale: wow i was already to call that stupid before even watching, but damn the music and singing was decent and you can't beat the view and the special effects
bakarocket: unitednihilists: every political party in Canada is jumping through hoops right now to find out which way this guy rolls in hopes of putting him on there team.Sad to see him leave space, he's done more for space exploration PR in 6 months then NASA has done in 6 years.6 years? I'd say 40 years.
DrPainMD: Meh. The original was recorded in space. Everything that's ever been recorded has been recorded in space. Everything that's ever been done has been done in space. The Earth is in space.
fatbear: Krapsnart: If you haven't seen what NASA's been doing you haven't been paying attention. You hit the nail on the head at the same time that you missed the point entirely. Very impressive.
Ishkur: fatbear: Don't read this if you want to continue thinking that.Oh. Well, there you go then. I stand corrected.
laulaja: Type at ft of pg 1. eggrolls asks how they got a piano up there: The Magic of Editing!Cdr Hadfield does have a good voice, expect he does play guitar, 'stache is entirely OK. But wish he could change his facial expression! Get told at chorus to Smile! Makes ya stay in tune better! Sole thing that would've improved this, tho bet he doesn't wish to perform for a living........
reillan: If it's truly "in space", shouldn't it be just video with no audio?
Ishkur: I like to think that I gave him the idea for this.See, I made a Welcome Home video for Chris Hadfield last week, and he and his son Evan saw it and loved it (also his wife). The song choice is interesting, considering the one I used was a response to the Davie Bowie tune. But yes, Chris Hadfield has just elevated himself from awesome to divinity. He may be coming back to Earth, but he is certainly transcendent.
unitednihilists: Sad to see him leave space, he's done more for space exploration PR in 6 months then NASA has done in 6 years.
saturn badger: CrazyCurt: I wonder what Bowie thinks? If he doesn't love it he is a bad man.
Phil the SWO: Is it wrong that I want him to disappear from public life forever now? He's been such an inspiration and awesome person, and I don't want him to have a chance to screw that up and completely destroy my hope in humanity.
radarlove: Luminiferous Aether: Gotta watch to the very end...OH shiat IS HE GONNA BE OKAY?!?!I CAN'T TAKE ANY MORE OF THESE NATIONAL TRAGEDIES!
Plant Rights Activist: so... can he actually play the guitar or did he just bring it along in case he runs into alien chicks?
CrazyCurt: This made me smile deeply and it felt good. Thanks, subby and Cmdr. H.I wonder what Bowie thinks?/ you know it's probably been brought to his attention, or it will be if MSM gets wind.
bbfreak: Also hopefully NASA has learned a thing or two about public outreach, because while NASA is pretty OK at online public outreach he's been a lot more effective in my opinion.
almostsane: I figure that NASA or the ISS would lay claim to his photos but if the book profits go to them or an educational concern that encourages kids to study science I thought maybe they could work something out. Of course, that's expecting reasonable behavior from a gov't agency so maybe I've had one too many beers today......
bbfreak: Also, I believe its been mainly has son who has been making all the posting possible. almostsane: I am SO going to miss his many daily Facebook posts! I do hope that he eventually publishes all his photos in a coffee book once he's Earth bound again.Hmm, that might be troublesome. He may have taken the pictures, but they were likely with NASA cameras. I seem to remember a case where this issue popped up before with another non-NASA astronaut.
almostsane: I do hope that he eventually publishes all his photos in a coffee book once he's Earth bound again.
theorellior: It's a damn shame he's coming back down. How will I get my near-daily fix of our fair globe pictured from orbit? WHO'S GONNA PICK UP THE SLACK THIS MAN'S ABSENCE WILL LEAVE?For all the Twitter nay-sayers out there, Chris Hadfield's feed is EXACTLY why Twitter works.
Warthog: unitednihilists: every political party in Canada is jumping through hoops right now to find out which way this guy rolls in hopes of putting him on there team.Sad to see him leave space, he's done more for space exploration PR in 6 months then NASA has done in 6 years.Wait, he's Canadian? But he doesn't look Canadian....
Lsherm: That was pretty. farking. cool.He really needs to lose the porn 'stache, though.
Popcorn Johnny: He's kind of a big deal over there.
