Congratulations to Seth Meyers, the next host of the Tonight Show in 2018 when Leno retires.

2013-05-12 04:14:29 PM
Happy for him and jimmy both. Seem nice.

2013-05-12 04:18:18 PM
This reminds me of the time when...

Hard to snark on this one. Seems like a good choice.

2013-05-12 04:18:48 PM
Congratulations, newest guy to promote a guest's newest project.

2013-05-12 04:20:24 PM
Damn, what a terrible choice. He's been on SNL for about 6 years longer than he should have been.

2013-05-12 04:24:41 PM
SNL is still on?

Bslim: SNL is still on?

They've had the same fan base for 40 years which is why Saturday Night Live is aired at 4pm

2013-05-12 04:29:12 PM
and a big resounding *meh* was heard by all.

/seriously, why does anybody care about this shiat?
//serious question

2013-05-12 04:39:06 PM
NBC giving up on Late Night from the West Coast?  Big mistake.  There won't be any difference between Jimmy and Seth.  It will be a two hour self giggle fest.

2013-05-12 04:41:49 PM
He'll need to cut down on the smug.  Also comes off as a tad self-absorbed, so he'll need to learn to appear interested in people.  All the time.

Lorne Michaels - "I OWN 30 ROCK, Biatches."

Sweet. Guess what I won't be watching?

Bslim: SNL is still on?

Not only that, Lorne Michaels is slowly taking over control of all NBC programming.

2013-05-12 04:47:30 PM
I thought it was Mike Meyers at first, don't know who Seth is.

2013-05-12 04:57:23 PM
What's Jimmy gonna do? Take over for Conan?

Ishkur: What's Jimmy gonna do? Take over for Conan?

I think NBC s finally forcing Leno out, but I wouldn't put money on it.

2013-05-12 05:04:46 PM
It could've been worse. Late Night with Tracy Morgan. 60 minutes of standing up and pulling up his shirt.

/I like the idea so much I wanna take Seth out behind the schoolyard and get him pregnant.

Don't bet Jay leaving until Jay is buried in the ground. Then dug up, has a wooden stake hammered into his heart, shot twice with silver bullets, drawn and quartered, his separate parts sent to the four corners of the earth, cremated and his ashes scattered into the winds. Even then, don't take anything less than 10-1.

Oh lawd.

2013-05-12 05:17:41 PM
Really?

2013-05-12 05:19:21 PM
REEEEEally?

and this:

Scorpitron is reduced to a thin red paste: He'll need to cut down on the smug.  Also comes off as a tad self-absorbed, so he'll need to learn to appear interested in people.  All the time.

At least he looks somewhat like an adult male as opposed to Fallon who still looks like a 12 year old laughing at fart jokes and the word 'boobies'.

2013-05-12 05:29:10 PM
Hopefully now more people will figure out that Craig Ferguson is the only thing worth watching on network TV after 11:00 PM.

2013-05-12 05:31:16 PM

2013-05-12 05:35:43 PM
I'm sure he'll do fine. But if I'm awake at that hour I'm watching Craig Ferguson.

I'm more shocked that  "Last Call with Carson Daly"  is still on the air.

So what cable network will the Seth Meyers Show end up on when Leno decides not to retire and the network screws Fallon and Meyers over to please him?

2013-05-12 06:15:51 PM
I was disappointed in last night's episode.  Not terrible, but not great.  Since I'm SNL's dependable fan base, meaning that I've watched it since 1975 and am entering the first stages of senility, this is not good.

2013-05-12 06:16:40 PM
Makes sense to me.  If Fallon has a late night show, it's obvious you don't have to be funny to have one.

2013-05-12 06:21:45 PM
I can't believe NBC would let Leno run Conan out of town just to let a hack like Fallon take over the spot a couple years later. What morons are running NBC? What a network of failure.

This one might actually stick.  The threat the first time around was that he'd go to ABC to lead in for Kimmel.  Now that Kimmel's on at 11:30, there's nowhere for Leno to go unless Fox decides to get in to the late night game, but they've been trying that for years and their affiliates just won't budge.

Well, that mess lead to the head of primetime programming being forced out, so this is a new bunch of morons making this mistake.

Holy crap.  I honestly thought that show was canned after a couple of seasons.  Wikipedia tells me it's been on the air for twelve seasons now.

My guess it is being kept alive by Nielsen families that fall asleep with the TV on.

I'm betting Leno has a plan to get Ferguson deported, force CBS to move Letterman back and take his spot.

Now that Zucker is running CNN, I wonder if Jay might replace Piers Morgan and do a show which would air at 9PM Eastern, hours before the others?

If he does, I bet Jay gets a shiny new race car with a number 9 painted on it.

In my personal opinion, Seth Meyers is a horrible SNL head writer and even worse as Weekend Update host. I have no idea if his schtick will work in a talk show format, and I have no intention of ever finding out.

The Magic Hour was far worse than Chevy's show.

Put Leno and Anthony Bourdain together on a show. That'd be hilarious.

Apparently Lorne Michaels.

Seth Meyers can't even make 10 minutes of Weekend Update entertaining a couple of times a month.

But congrats to NBC for finding yet another smug prick from the Northeast that does a lot of Republican jokes. How ground breaking.

The thing about Leno is all the wonderful things people will be writing about him after he is gone. And, people spend a few months looking at the nightly train wreck of what Lorne Michaels has put together.
