Too bad they broke up. The new Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats and Ghost are both pretty awesome. Took awhile to grow on me though.

Who cares. I saw them open up for Behemoth and Watain and no one cared how metal they were.

When I hear Psychedelic metal,  there are only 2 names I want to hear.  Monster Magnet for the sort of fun stuff,  and the best metal band ever,  Neurosis.   It seems like every metal band on the planet is biting Neurosis these days.

And now on to real metal.

The Ruins of Beverast played their first live show ever at Roadburn recently.

It was awesome. Wish I could have gone.

Thanks for the heads up about that album. I enjoy them and they put on a good show opening up for Ghost a year or two ago. Speaking of Ghost and Gemini, I'm seeing Ghost tomorrow night and the opening band is Ides of Gemini. Should be fun.

Sounds like a great show! I really enjoyed Ghost's new album - it took a bit longer to grow on me than their first one did, but I think it's as good or better.

Sounded like Heart, if the musicians were replaced with tone deaf 12 year olds.

Well, when the title of the thread is "This Sunday Heavy Metal House Call..." and it's not metal, I care. I wasn't passing judgment on their skill- merely the fact that it isn't metal.

A lot of heavy metal elitists in here this week. Thank Odin you're all here otherwise us less metal fans wouldn't know what we can enjoy.

I know I mentioned this last week but I'm on a black metal compilation coming out on Tridroid Records. However, this is more than self promotion there is some great underground black metal bands on there. Preorders are up now:  http://tridroid.bandcamp.com/album/nekro-hymns-vol-12          This is officially the last time I'll mention it. It's definitely worth streaming though

Not really different than any other week. Metal fans are more picky and biatchy than any other music fan, save for people who follow electronic/rave music. (The summer slaughter facebook page and blabbermouth.net are the worst 2 offenders ive seen recently)

For the sake of being transparent, I thought this weeks band sucked.

Just like their first album it takes a while to get used to, but I think it's the better album, as long as you can handle their awesome schtick. The new Uncle Acid album is also pretty amazing. It's like an evil Beatles.

The Ghost show tonight was pretty fun. Unfortunately they didn't play the new album from start to finish like the last time I saw them (love it when bands do that), but it was still enjoyable. They played Zombie Queen and Monstrous Clock as the encore. Lots of females in the crowd too. Lots of sad faces when they found out the merch stand didn't sell the Papa Emeritus  dildo and buttplug.
