Harvey's really gone down the tubes over the years. My aunt an uncle lived there until the late '80s. They weren't part of the "white flight" group. My uncle retired and they had already planned to move to Alabama afterward.

Indeed it has... My dad moved the family out in 1971 after the race riots. The old house was kept up well for a while, but then slid into inevitable decay - it now looks like a crack den.

Dixie Square wasn't finally demolished until last year. I was surprised the demolition ever actually got done - previous attempts to do something with the property always fell through.
