I thought I was having a stroke. Apparently the feed I was using got into some loop and I kept hearing the same thing for about 3 minutes and then it would restart. I thought... didn't I just hear that.

I can move all my limbs and smile properly so it is probably not a stroke.

I'll go take an aspirin anyway.

DanTheMan1024: soosh: DanTheMan1024: Thanks soosh, I'm usually quiet and just listen but I have company over for dinner and thought you would like to know that you have about ten extra people listening tonight in Oklahoma.

What part of Oklahoma?  I grew up in Tulsa, and spent time in OKC, Norman, & Stillwater.  My grandfather had a farm near Durant.

No shiat. Born, raised and currently living in Tulsa. Went to ou (Norman) for undergrad and grad school. I should have said something sooner.

I was born in 1968, raised in suburban Tulsa near Oral Roberts University, went to a Southern Baptist Church through high school, graduated Memorial in 1987, played four years of varsity football lineman, went to OSU my freshman year in college, worked at the Hideaway Pizza and discovered drugs, flunked out of college, worked as a cook and then chef in OKC, Norman, and Tulsa, went to a year of University of Tulsa and two and a half years at OU, gave it up to cook full time, moved to Alaska in 1997 to raise kids in a mountain town and now work as a government mule computer dude and do this radio show and some photography.

yeah, I'm hoping some friends that work in a tech help desk for a local law school can help me pull something off that drive. Lots of rare covers and bootlegs on that thing. I can get the compy to occassionally start up with it connected, but even then it won't stay stable. It has the click of death though. Ah well. Remember rocking John Henry on 97.5 KMOD on Sunday night? Your sat night show has replaced his show after he died.

oh, yeah, I grew up on KMOD.

my dad lives in OKC, my mom and brother live in Plano now.

I grew up on KMOD too. I still remember setting my alarm when I was about ten years old at midnight to turn the cassette over to keep recording ol John Henry! Thanks friend! Some of the obscure sublime is great but a clip of great old blues and a shout out to John Henry would make our night here in Tulsa!

yeah, I'm hoping some friends that work in a tech help desk for a local law school can help me pull something off that drive. Lots of rare covers and bootlegs on that thing. I can get the compy to occassionally start up with it connected, but even then it won't stay stable. It has the click of death though. Ah well. Should have replaced the backup drive sooner (that died the month before)

I like that song very much. That was a good song from a hell of an album from a good band.

I hadn't bothered to check the radio show out before, as my connection isn't great.

I didn't know that everyone went over here.

Duh.

soosh's show is never boring & I don't think I've ever heard something I disliked. His thread is posted around 10 p.m. PT and I cross-green it to both TFD & the main page so everyone can enjoy some awesome music. Tonight's show started out with Elvis, the Talking Heads, etc.

soosh is planning a show, possibly as early as next week, of the original versions of songs covered by the Blues Brothers.

"soosh is planning a show, possibly as early as next week, of the original versions of songs covered by the Blues Brothers."

3 songs from the first Blues Brothers release were covered nicely by a Canadian group - THE DOWNCHILD BLUES BAND ... considered by some as Canada's premier blues band.
The brother that's still alive is a big fan/promoter ... and appears on stage with them when the opportunity exists.

I think that's the censored version, but since you now know who did it you probably could find the uncensored version online.

I found it via google search (with safe search turned off). Used "little toot big toot cocaine song" (without the quote marks) and it was the first hit on the page.

Bathia_Mapes: tinfoil-hat maggie: Bathia_Mapes: tinfoil-hat maggie: Bathia_Mapes: tinfoil-hat maggie: little toot big toot cocaine song

At least one of the links said that Dr Demento played it on his show.

I found this on youtube. I think it's slightly longer than the one I previously posted.

As I said you're awesome now if you could find me a none stupid version( most of what I've seen is bad lip-synch stuff) of "Penis Envy" from the Dr. Demento show. I'd just start calling you Goddess : )
/Don't know why I find that song so funny.

How about this version, performed by the group themselves?

You are indeed a Goddess : )

:-D

Thanks! I'll try not to let it go to my head.

Yeah, you're perfect the way you are and I love you for it : )

I'm heading off to bed now cause I'm yawning so hard that I'm afraid I'll dislocate my jaw.
