Cool. I hope nothing but absurdly nice things happen to her and her family for the rest of their lives. They deserve random acts of kindness everyday forever.

I really hope this helps her get over the missing ten years.  It has to help that she can pick up on something she was getting ready to do before being tortu-raped for a decade.

That woman has to have some herculean mental and psychological fortitude to survive that ordeal and not be completely catatonic or damaged beyond repair.

It really would be cool if this story is true, but it IS the Daily Fail.

That is a farking amazing piece of machinery.  A little weird that that was the first thing she asked about, but who the fark are any of us to say what would be normal, I guess?

My first guess is that, for whatever reason, the thought of that promised car is that thing she held on to in her head to focus on.  A car is a symbol of freedom and escape after all.

Nice...but if it was a Grand National it would be way cooler...

\of course the 87 GNX is probably the ultimate 80's muscle car...

I really hope these ladies get some enjoyment out of their lives after the hell they've been through. They lost so much. It makes me really sad and mad.

And I hope that asshole dies awfully soon and violently, he's lived too long already.

Makes as much sense as anything. And yeah, I can't imagine what the "normal" thing to say would be in these circumstances, it's got to be such a mindfark having to essentially resume the life that got cut off ten years ago. If she's still trying to get her bearings and find out what's the same and what's different, hell, why not ask about the car?

I really feel bad for that Michelle Knight girl.

All three girls had traumatic things happen to them, but Knight seems to have been a punching bag all her life. Beatings, rape, children take from her, siblings taken from her, then gets kidnapped, and has to deal with all that raping, beating, and abuse for 11 years in a basement.

Talk about a lifetime of suffering.

True that. I went to a little dirt race track with my father a couple of weekends ago, and about the only cars competing with the old Camaros and Firebirds were Monte Carlos.

Didn't her mother "forgive" the schmuck for his action?  If so, she has some major karmic retribution coming her way.

Who also were the only group who stopped looking for their missing child - and the abuser let the victims watch coverage of the searches. That has to be a mindfark of biblical proportions.

And yes, someone should give Danny Koker a call. Considering how big a softie he plays himself as, and considering the free publicity for Kount's that stuff like this gives, I think he'd take it in a heartbeat.

Great story, hope it all turns out, some restorers help out but....

...what kinda Grandpa "jokes" that he'd gotten rid of the car? I mean, that was just a huge speed bump to the tale. The grand-daughter you say you've been praying for a decade phones up out of the blue and the FIRST thing you think to do to her is go Jerky Boy on her? Like she has not had enough psychological torment. I just cannot process that, even with factoring in trying deflect some deep emotions with wisecracking. Seriously farked up.

What I really want to see is the story where she and her 13 year old son are reunited. Preferably today. I don't understand why this hasn't come up in the news yet.

Except he should just do it without making an episode on the show about it. The media is already sensationalizing the whole story about Amanda and the other girls bad enough. No need to make a big deal about more of it on TV. Those girls may not necessarily like having a new story about them pop up in the media every 5 minutes.

According to the State of Ohio it is,

Sweet ride! Now she can go cruising in that Monte Carlo with her boyfriend Todd. You know Todd. That one guy with the wispy mustache, cold sore on his lip, pre-mulleted hair and a pack of smokes never more than arm's length away. They could crank open the T-tops (wow I miss T-Tops!) and jam out to some Ted Nugent on the tape deck. Later that night they would go to the local pool hall where Todd would run into his best bud Kurt. Kurt had an endless parade of girlfriends, the most recent one being Linda who was always in favor of tube tops. They would all eventually end up at Linda's place with a 12-pack of Busch (and maybe a few bottles of Bartles & Jaymes for the ladies) enjoying the pleasant spring evening and wondering what the big wide world had in store for them.

/1986 flashback
//born in '71 so this is just my imagination
