Nice! Try shooting video as well; there are lots of programs out there that will stack frames and leave you with even sharper images.

Deep Sky Stacker does some great work there, and I do tutorials in Hangouts on G+ every once and a while (the user manual is horrible but it's easy to use once you figure it out. And there are mounts for non-dslrs for attaching to scopes; I believe there's one for i-Phones as well.

Two, actually; the brighter of the pair is the Flame Nebula, IIRC, and I agree with Else; its very nice work.

Thanks so much! After I took that one and posted it on FB EarthSky.org and it went semi-viral for a while. I figured I had to use it here, even though there was no telescope involved. :o)

You guys never fail to bring your A-games--gorgeous stuff this week! I'd like to take a moment to welcome Farktography First Timer Glockenspiel Hero as well as extend a warm welcome back to some folks we hadn't seen in awhile: oi_piss_me_off, Satanus Maximus, SoCalChris, and Xoc.  Hope to see all of you back next week!

Results aren't final until the thread is closed, but at this point, congrats to top finishers Linguine, chupathingie, emiliogtz, and ravnostic!  Final winner will be praised and adulated at farktography.net and in the Fark Farktography Forum, as always.

See everyone next week for "Monochromatic Masterpieces"!
