Also according to WND, this is considered radical legislation:

SB 71, signed by Gov. Gray Davis in 2003 and implemented in 2008 through the new "sexual health" standards approved by appointees of Schwarzenegger and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O'Connell, teaches children as young as fifth grade that any consensual sexual behavior is "safe" as long as you "protect" yourself with a condom, and teaches children that homosexuality, bisexuality and transsexuality is "normal."

No better way to symbolize this legislation than Ferris Bueller singing in the shower.

One would think that the proper solution would be individual shower stalls that have absolute privacy

Considering that no sexual activity is 100% safe even with condoms and that WND has lied about stuff before, I'm going to say that's not even what the bill says.

My high school had a couple of private showers in the girls' locker room for those who were on their periods. The rest of us had to take group showers, and my gym teacher made sure we did by standing at the shower exit with her clipboard, smiling as she checked off our names.

OK, girls with girl parts go take a shower, girls with guy parts run an extra 3 laps around the baseball field; then you take a shower.
Tomorrow, the two groups switch.

Implemented with no reason for anyone to fuss.  Pretty much the same thing a school would do if they only had one shower for boys and girls.

Harvey Milk, the homosexual activist

Wasn't Harvey Milk a politician?  I guess activist is a new scare word like liberal, as long as they are not Christian activists or pro-life activist, or anti-marriage equality activist etc.

2013-05-11 05:05:16 PM
Presented to you: a few WNDerp to English translations:

As WND reported earlier, the Pacific Justice Institute launched a website, GenderInsanity.com, to bring attention to AB 1266, as well as to SB 323, which would eliminate key tax exemptions for the Boy Scouts of America if the organization were to not accept "gender identity" and homosexuality.

I propose those bills be amended to eliminate all tax exemptions for the Boy Scouts whether they lets gays in or not.  What's the purpose of those exemptions anyway?

SB 543, signed by then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2010, "allows school staff to remove children ages 12 and up from government schools and taken off-campus for counseling sessions, without parental permission or involvement."

"Billie?  You've got bruises all over your body and you come to school in dirty clothes.  We're gonna drive you over to talk to a nice lady who's gonna ask you a few questions about your parents."
Not really seeing the problem here.

SB 777, signed by Schwarzenegger in 2007, prohibits all public school instruction and every school activity from "promoting a discriminatory bias" against (effectively requiring positive depictions of) transsexuality, bisexuality and homosexuality to schoolchildren as young as five years old.

Or they could just say nothing at all.  I realize it's infringing on some people's religions freedom to tell them public schools can't mention to five year olds how homosexuals are going to the pits of Hades, but these are the sacrifices we make for a modern, equal rights society to work.

AB 537, signed by Davis in 1999, permits teachers and students to openly proclaim and display their homosexuality, bisexuality or transsexuality, even permitting cross-dressing teachers, school employees and student on campus, in classrooms, and in restrooms.

In other words, a male teacher is now permitted to have a picture of himself and his husband on his desk in the classroom the same way a female teacher always has been.

2013-05-11 05:44:40 PM
SB 572, signed by Schwarzenegger in 2009, establishes "Harvey Milk Day" in K-12 California public schools and community colleges. In classrooms, schools and school districts that participate, children are taught to admire the life and values of late homosexual activist and teen predator Harvey Milk of San Francisco in the month of May.

So if I read this right Harvey Milk Day is only recognized in schools and school districts that choose to recognize it.

Lots of Bills signed by Schwarzenegger identified in this article, I guess he really is a RINO now.

2013-05-11 06:13:54 PM
Whatever. WingNutDaily pumping up the fear. Again. The part I like is

fta ACR 82, approved by the California Legislature in 2010, "creates de facto 'morality-free zones' at participating schools (pre-kindergarten through public universities). Schools that become official 'Discrimination-Free Zones' will 'enact procedures' (including mandatory counseling) against students from pre-kindergarten on up who are accused of 'hate,' 'intolerance,' or 'discrimination.'" The definition of "hate" includes peacefully speaking or writing against the unnatural lifestyles choices of homosexuality and bisexuality.

So the right sees hate, intolerance and discrimination are forms of morality. The first step is admitting it, I guess.

Seem like to me a good idea, although I would think that generally speaking it would be better to leave the child in the school as most kids should feel safer and more secure in a familiar place such as their school

AB 394, signed by Schwarzenegger in 2007, effectively promotes transsexual, bisexual and homosexual indoctrination of students, parents and teachers via "anti-harassment" and "anti-discrimination" materials, to be publicized in classrooms and assemblies, posted on walls, incorporated into curricula on school websites, and distributed in handouts to take home.

The one's who want to continue to be dicks to gays et al because bible are now calling legislative attempts to stop bullying, promoting tolerance and the like "indoctrination"?

Well, now I've seen everything.

They don't do that around here.  I more than once saw my high school latin teacher wheeling a shopping cart full of nothing but corona's out of the grocery store.  Which was amazing, because I always saw an eldery, overweight white woman with a limp and a cane as more of a red wine drinker.

And my teacher mom looked forward to meeting parents at stores.  She was required to have so many 'parent teacher contacts' each month, so every time it happened she just wrote it up as fulfilling her paperwork obligations.

He's talking about the book, not the Heinlein novel.  Go back and watch it again.   Near the end, Doogie Howser's dressed up in a pretty close knockoff of a Nazi SS uniform.  Then there's all the 'would you like to know more' propaganda sections - like a kids group being led by a soldier a la the Hitler Youth.

I can honestly say that I accidentally ran into one of my teachers exactly twice in 12 years. Both of them couldn't wait to break off the contact as soon as possible. The only exception was that one of my teachers lived about a block away from us so it was kinda hard to not see him around from time to time, but I was an exception as I was at a school that I wasn't supposed to go to (my "Official" address was listed as being at my grandmothers which was a few blocks from the school. My mom didn't want me going to the school I was supposed to go to because it had a horrible reputation at the time) so he was doing what teachers usually do and was about 4 miles away from the school which lends itself to not running into students by accident.

As to the accidental meeting fitting into a parent teacher obligation I would guess that that would be seen as cheating if her boss knew about it. It's kinda hard to talk about a student without having some materials in hand to go over with the parents.
