That pretty much sums it up

If a pack of raccoons were chasing me & I didn't have a weapon nearby, a tree would sound like a good solution as well.

All the more reason for kids to carry guns.

Will the raccoons be tried in a military tribunal?

The Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service is being credited with diffusing a situation...

Oh, FFS.

This is why spell-check is not a substitute for an editor.

not amused.

Firefighters "defused" a potentially explosive situation by "dispersing" the coons.  "Diffuse" has no place here.

/and when something is slowed or stopped, it's "reined in" not "reigned in."  Farking Web interns.

Yeah I'm guessing 'kid treed by raccoon' is less news than 'girl kidnapped'.

the situation was potentially explosive, on account of the coons. the coons were then dispersed - diffused, if you will. 20 coons / m^2 = a potentially explosive concentration of coons. when diffused over a much larger area, resulting in a much smaller concentration of coons, the coon situation becomes much less explosive.

by dispersing the coons, diffusation was achieved resulting in a lessening of the potential for coon explosions. none of the coons actually had fuses, tho. there was nothing to defuse, and "defused" has no place here.

george bush 2 slowed or stopped some things whilst he was reigning in the USA.

farking web intern critics.

/coons.

The other night I was sitting in the living room watching tv when I heard one of our outdoor trash cans fall over. I grabbed a flashlight and went out to see what was up - as soon as I got about 5' away this giant farking raccoon walks out from behind it. Thing was huge. I went back inside and got a piece of bread for it but when I came back out it was gone.

I love my raccoons.  If that means the loss of the occasional neighborhood 12 year old, so be it.

I'm curious about something. According to the article this happened in a place called Abbotsford.

I've heard Oxford got its name because it was where farmers had their oxen ford the river. So is there a monastary somewhere near Abbotsford?

Yes, across the river.

As bad as things have seemed these past few years, I'm pretty sure that'd still be news.

Now those poor raccoons are on the sex offender list. They'll never get a job. They'll have to resort to stealing.

I have raccoons come by every night. I put out whatever food is about to go bad in the fridge. There's almost nothing they turn their noses up at. One time I witnessed a standoff between the raccoons and a skunk over who got the food. Very entertaining.

Biggest racoon i ever saw was in Irvine.  Everyone thought there was a dog tearing up folks trash cans at night.

Came home at 4am and saw it it blocking a vehicle from driving down E.Yale Loop  The beast was  the size of a friggn St.Bernard.

Better be careful. Word will spread among raccoon kind. They'll start bringing their friends, their families, their kits... Before you know it, they'll take over.

And nobody wants that.

They're deceptively cute, nasty beasts. One adult raccoon can, and will (given the opportunity) slaughter a flock of chickens in a single night.

/Not a fan
//Would never actively feed them
