What? it's a kids show, really. It was never meant t appeal to adults. That's what makes it's success even more amazing. Yeah, now I'd say it's more of a family show than it is targetted to any particular demographic these days.

I liked it. I think it was better paced than some of the other episodes this season. It also seems like the spent more of the budget of this episode so it didn't look quite as cheap as some of the others.

I did NOT care for them more than hinting that the Doctor is physically attracted to Clara at the end. This is getting ridiculous.

I though Matt's acting was the sole redeeming feature of this ep. But each to his own.

Children should not be allowed on the TARDIS.

Okay.. they've been referencing each of the classic doctors in order, one per episode. By rights there should have been a Colin Baler reference in this ep, but I didn't catch it. We had "fan-tanstic!" and "allons-y". But it should have been Baker this week and McCoy next week. Anybody catch it?

Concur on both counts...  I would add that the next episode is about the Doctor's biggest secret... what better way to reference the most mysterious of the classic Doctors by talking about his secrets?

The best cyberman story in a while. I really enjoyed this episode. The older sister was pretty annoying. Who gets bored by being on another planet and also acts like a stuck up brat? Other than that they kids didn't really play a big factor in the story. They were just the random..oh better save them so nothing bad happens. Even then they probably could have just been left.

Clara suddenly becoming very directive and in charge was a bit weird. Her character goes through some weird swings. Warwick Davis as the emperor was fun.

The proposal at the end seemed like a reference to how Peri left 6, IMO, although some folks have also noted that this felt more like a McCoy tribute than one to Colin Baker.

I think it would be kinda funny if they said that this one was McCoy and made the next one reference McGann, snubbing Baker yet again...

To be honest I'm actually more excited about this week's "Orphan Black". Don't get me wrong, I still love Who, it's just that last week's OB was SO good. Paul finally got a chance to do more than just act mopey. And poor Vic. He may be an asshole but the guy just cannot catch a break.

Agreed. Damn good show. I was skeptical at first, by Tatiana, aside from being quite the looker, is an exceptional actress and quickly won me over. Hard to believe that this is her small screen debut. Excellent ensemble cast as well.

Loved this episode, I like how Clara took charge, and i loved the doctor's battle against the conversion.  Some of you people pick the show apart so much it just seems like it must not be much fun.

yeah, mmm hmmm, sure it is. Those weeping angels are totally aimed at kids. The increasingly complex arcs, vain attempts to be clever, and romantic elements shoehorned in all over just scream "SHOW FOR KIDS!!!!".

You mean the Boo Diddley statues? Well, I suppose being sent back to the Seventies is pretty terrifying...

The little girl almost ruined it. She was a little brat. When the Emperor proposed, they should have offered him the girl as a consolation prize. He could keep her around as a bossy little servant.

And I happen to think Clara's nose is really cute.

As for references to Six, did none of you notice that The Doctor (during his conversion and battle with Cyber Controller) had moments of acting like rude, condescending douche to Clara? That was exactly the attitude Six had with Peri. They even included comments about how pathetic humans were compared to Time Lords (and Cybermen).

Oh, yeah, and the partial conversion, and having a Little Person as a primary character (Warwick's Emperor was much more likable than Sil, though).

And the proposal, though as much as I like Warwick Davis, nobody can demand that you marry them like Brian Blessed. Gosh, I would have loved to see King Yrcanos show up!

"YOU'RE the Doctor? OF COURSE YOU ARE! You were always a strange, skittish little fellow, weren't you? Ahhh.... And who is this lovely creature, Doctor? HA! I may need to take another wife! CHISWICK! FRESH HORSES! HAWKMEN.... DIIIIIIIVE!!!"

Yes, it is a kids show. Generally aimed at the 8+ range, though designed so whole families might be interested in it. Of course that is just the show's executive producers, directors, writers, and whole cast have said, and has been that way since the very beginning.

They can say that all they like, but the show they're airing is certainly not aimed at kids (or families for that matter).

texdent: Prequel to next week's Doctor Who

It's the season finale next week?! Wow.

And they go to Trenzalore? You would think the Silence would have shown up at some point or made some kind of appearance. Maybe the Great Intelligence is involved with that some how. But for the huge deal the Silence are and how they caused the Doctor to try and erase himself from history, you would think the Silence would at least be mentioned or worried about.

Also, I haven't really cared who Clara was. All the episodes with Clara have never had a big emphasis on it. Sure, all the episodes related to the Doctor going places to find out who she is but they never really stressed the importance of who she might be. Now with this little video it makes it seem like it will be a big deal and will mean a big change for the Doctor.

This season's Christmas Special was phenomenal. The rest of the season since then has just gone downhill.

This episode sucked more ass than the headliner at a Tijuana Donkey Show.

"Oh, crikey, children are in danger! Don't blow up the planet! I mean it!"

And from an episode a couple of weeks back: "Let's jump on a rocket-powered moped and travel from one planet to another! Feast on my soul but you will starve!"

Does RTD have writer's block or does he just not care any more?

/Matt Smith arguing with himself was actually pretty darn good acting.

I'm hoping Clara's development turns into something really important. Otherwise, she's just kinda dull and uninteresting.

She had two great episodes when she wasn't Clara. Victorian was best, that christmas episode was very entertaining. She is just some scared chick and not very clever in the new episodes, and is actually a little annoying.

The Doctor's real name is Clarence.

My bad. I know it's been Moffat for the last couple of seasons, but I typed Davies in for some reason. Maybe because I watched some of season 2 of Torchwood last night.
