Shenanigans.

No Beckley, WV anywhere in the top 10. I'm officially calling "Shenanigans".

I have to agree with you there

This list is silly. Atlanta isn't redneck.

Now, if you go 45 minutes in any direction, then it is redneck. But, inside the city limits it isn't.

2013-05-10 11:54:38 AM
Atlanta is #1?  Atlanta isn't even in the top ten of the most redneck cities in Georgia.

2013-05-10 11:56:46 AM
Shawnee OK also oddly missing.

2013-05-10 12:00:31 PM
There's more gang violence in Mesa than rednecks in Mesa...
/Also throwing the "shenanigans" flag...

"The 10 Most Redneck Cities in America" according to a person who doesn't know what a redneck is.

This...I lived in mesa for a bit. It was interesting...the gangs liked me though so it wasn't too bad.

Sacramento? Really?!

Nabb1: Atlanta is #1?  Atlanta isn't even in the top ten of the most redneck cities in Georgia.

Exactly.  Atlanta is the most northern city in the South.  Anecdotal evidence here from a weekend visit, but the whole city seemed like a fancy strip mall, like the ones I grew up near in the Chicago 'burbs.

2013-05-10 02:28:19 PM
Or a city. Mesa, AZ is not a city, but a sprawling wasteland of crap and Mormons.

Is Beckley, WV one of the 50 largest cities in the US? Weird, I have never heard of it.

These lists are put out as troll lists. So people will talk about them and they will end up on the news. See the recent one saying the most exciting city in America is.....Oakland. Well exciting if you mean the excitement while you dodge bullets.

This is like your worlds tallest midget.  By and large, cities aren't redneck, there's just too much exposure to other people.

Princeton makes Beckley look like a center for the arts.

List ignores Mississippi, Alabama and South Carolina?
Fail.

Holy shiatsnacks is that article offensive.

"The 10 Most Redneck Cities in America." That Hipster author read yelp reviews on.

Much more accurate title.

hej
2013-05-10 03:27:16 PM
I would argue it's more the Kansas side of Kansas City that's redneck.

2013-05-10 03:29:48 PM
this whole thing is going to get a ton of page views. I guess they went this way because if they actually called out true redneck cities the author would get fired upon at will with shotguns and whatever other firearms they possess.

But neither are cities, just an amalgamation of crude hovels.

We've had two Missouri threads today. So if Jefferson City isn't on the list, then it fails.

2013-05-10 03:31:36 PM
How is Houston not on there?

2013-05-10 03:32:05 PM
They also had a list for nerdiest cities............Sacramento and Atlanta made that list as well.

I'm starting to think that they didn't do a lot of research when they came up with these lists.

Hillbilly? Redneck? I didnt know there was a difference

Whenever someone asks me where I'm from, I proudly say "Austin"-the land of live music, beautiful parks, active, healthy people, art, theater, and open-mindedness.

And as a result, she grew up so open-minded that she now writes smug, condescending articles making fun of people who like things she doesn't like.

2013-05-10 03:34:51 PM
Fort Worth maybe... if we're counting the whole "Cowtown" history. As it stands now? No.

Arlington? Redneck? I spent many years there and have no idea what they could possibly be talking about.

Waco should be on that list.

It is enough to make you long for the upscale sophistication of Chicago or New York.

The methodology is flawed. The candidate pool was restricted to the 50 most populous cities in the U.S. Rednecks are known to congregate in smaller communities populated by a number of large families. Go back and try again.

Exactly what I was thinking for here in Nashville.  lol   Aside from having the most Country music radio stations per capita (I mean, we ARE the Music City), there are at least a dozen cities I can think of that are more "Redneck" than Nashville.

No Knoxville Tennessee? Come for the strip malls, stay for the ingrained, blatant racism.

verbaltoxin: We've had two Missouri threads today. So if Jefferson City isn't on the list, then it fails.

Once again, not one of the largest 50 cities in the US. And from what I've seen the times I've been there, it's pretty urban within the city limits.

Tarkus: Sacramento? Really?!

No shiat. Stockton maybe, but Sacramento?

2013-05-10 03:38:02 PM
Cleveland is more redneck than Cincinnati? That's a pretty big fail right there.

And for those of you complaining your shiatty little redneck town didn't make the list. Well because it's a town, not a city. Big difference there you bunch of stupid cocks.

2013-05-10 03:38:06 PM
Redneck and ghetto are almost identical except location.

2013-05-10 03:38:32 PM
This article is exactly what you think it is.  But you will read it any way, just to see if it confirms what you thought or irks you.

Maximum trolling.

OH MY GOD, CLEVELAND HAS A WAL-MART? AND THE ARTICLE INCLUDES A PICTURE OF WHAT A WAL-MART MIGHT LOOK LIKE? JESUS CHRIST, IT MUST BE LIKE AN EPISODE OF "HEE-HAW" UP THERE!

2013-05-10 03:38:55 PM
Does this redneck list coincide with the whitetrash list?

2013-05-10 03:40:12 PM
Atlanta? Are black people rednecks now too?

I am constantly saying Atlanta is the least Southern city in the South.  Second is Nashville.

I'd like to meet who wrote this so I could explain to him what a complete idiot he is.

Right,
If they would have picked Dalton, Macon, Augusta, or Newnan it would have been more likely.  And nothing from South Carolina or Alabama.  The maker of the list lives in the west.

Uh, aren't they like within 25 miles of each other?

And they didn't include Dallas?

Or San Antonio?
