That body armor had better have been real, because it's amazing that 'actor' didn't get 'shot' and 'killed' by somebody carrying concealed.

John Molock is a retired Army war veteran and suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. He told ABC 17 News this most recent trip to the movies triggered memories he never wanted to relive.
"We had just finished watching Iron Man 3," said Morlock. "We're just getting into the car when I spotted a man in full assault gear, carrying what appeared to be a modified M-4 and 9 mm on his side."

You suffer from PTSD and so you went to see a movie full of guns, explosions and death? That seems smart.

I was just thinking this.

"No, my job is to entertain... hold on... [answers phone] Hello? ... I see. Ok. [hangs up]."

Yup. Dunno what was worse -- the stunt or him wondering what all the fuss is about.

Apart from the incredibly poor judgement being used here, what the hell does that have to do with Iron Man? Here, get yourself a few of these to dance around out front.

Especially if the actor was making threatening moves, like pointing his weapon at people.

They're working on it.  Just passed a law to force all teachers to carry guns to school.  Pretty soon they'll be handing out pistols with the 3D glasses.

why would you even pull a "publicity stunt" for a movie guaranteed to be #1 box office gold, anyway?

Not gonna lie. It would have scared me.

Plus the theater I saw it in already had the volume at 11. Doubt I'm going back to a movie theater for anything less than Star Wars.

Everything was in place, it's the opening night of a superhero movie, it's somebody walking in all-dark clothes, everything pointed to bad things about to happen

Really, superhero movie opening night points to bad things about to happen, because bad things happened at one of those once?  Superhero movies specifically?  Maybe it's just DC-based superhero movies?
Somebody walking in all-dark clothes?  Summon the SWAT team right now!

I mean sure, the guy carrying guns is maybe a warning sign.  I just find it odd that evidently that didn't make it onto the police's radar.  Thanks NRA.

Really, because despite highly publicized incidents having happened in that past, people should just ignore a well armored guy with a gun walking into a public place?

The problem here wasn't having an "Ironman" type character at the premiere .. but, you then bring him in, have him dress in the "back room" and officially announce him... not just "Hey, come show up unannounced and just walk into the theatre".

Same question goes for the theatre though.... especially, just brinigng in a guy with "armor and guns", not even (apparently) looking like a character from the movie(?)   Dumb, small town theater owners tho I guess.

He had a Goddamned Iron Man suit on. What spree shooter (I'm sorry, "terrorist" because every act of violence is terrorism now) is going to dress up in a professionally built Iron Man outfit?

Jesus, they have screaming farked with our psyche as a nation and it's farking sad. I take my niece to Star Wars weekend and Disney every year and now I'm afraid there's going to be some screeching twat screaming that there are going to be 30 stormtroopers in the parade holding guns.

WTF did you let these people do to you, America?

In which movie did Iron Man carry an M4?

Would the armoured fingers even fit through the trigger guard? Does not the suit feature sufficient ordnance?

He wasn't tossing tear gas canisters, so no one should have made the association.

Iron Man used M4 and 9mm type weapons and not those weird energy beam things that come out of his hands? I didn't realize that. I also didn't realize Sideshow Bob was in Iron Man 3.

They need to bill the theater for the police response.

You suffer from PTSD and so you went to see a movie full of guns, explosions and death? That seems smart.

An article I was reading not so long ago suggested that, actually, violent video games and movies could be useful for helping deal with PTSD.  shiat if I know how, though.

THIS.  SO MUCH THIS.

I went to see Red Dawn (just to see how bad it was) on a cold night this past fall.  I wore a trench coat because I just felt like it.  It was cold, my date likes that coat so I decided to at least be halfway decent to please.  We got lots of stares from young men and women, they started texting and murmuring from what I could see.  When it came time to pay my bill (Movie Tavern), I always wait till the lights come up so I can see to sign the receipt.  People started getting antsy because I didn't pay the waiter beforehand.  I heard the people next to me acting all squirmy about the fact I wasn't paying my tab and the girl was getting scared.

People = suck!

I'm just guessing he was part of a larger act?  Maybe he was a bad guy Iron Man was going to fight with?  shrug, I haven't seen the movie and not a big Iron Man follower.

But I guess if I was planning to see the movie and my friends who went to theater A said there was a cool display of mock heroics in the lobby, and my friends who went to theater B said it was just your run of the mill theater experience with crying babies and assholes talking on their phones, I'd be more likely to pick theater A.

Well WarMachine is black and gray and with what reporting has been lowered to I bet they would just go with black. How much you want to be that the toothless wonder made a mistake and or just wanted to get on TV. Of course if I hired this guy and the News Media showed up I would have hauled him out to show him off, and call the redneck an idiot.

That looks more like an AK-47 than an M4 on his shoulder though.

Regardless of the specific model, it is a shoulder thing that goes up.
