DubtodaIll: You Are All Sheep: This was a woman driver.  Of course panic = hit everything after the fact.  Great gif out there of a female type driver who is pulling up to a curb, forgets which pedal is which and plows into the building..freaks out throws in reverse and flys in a semicircle to the curb, hits that and freaks, throws it into drive and does the same semi circle back into the building.  Good god.

Basketball??? Im going to give subby the benefit of the doubt and assume he was referring to the size of these kids balls.  Regardless, the way I see it, mom and daughter has about a dozen blow jobs to give -- each!

This kids is one of the lucky ones - about 200 kids every year get squished -and killed- by cars backing up.

Probably wouldn't help in this case. She hit a car and backed up in a panic.

I prefer proximity sensors. Regardless, someone in panic mode isn't thinking clearly.

At least it was her own daughter.

Hey, enough picking on this fine driver.  She obviously was the top in her class at BCDS.  She reacted exactly how she was taught in that situation.

I don't want to be forced to pay an extra $1k because 200 people a year don't look behind them.

I reach down and I lift up this crane and Ernesto was able to slide her out from under, and the doctors were able to save her legs. So the moral is: don't walk where you're not supposed to walk because there may not be someone with superhuman strength to save your little ass. And don't do drugs. That's it!"

That looks more like she attempted to pull a hit and run after a collision with a building building and failed. Twice.

It's not close to $1000. Heck, even Amazon will will sell you a complete aftermarket kit (camera, screen and wireless) for around $100. Once implemented as OEM equipment, the economies of scale will cut that price much farther - and give you nice extra features like GPS built in.

Also, that's not 200 people a year who don't look behind them, that's 200 dead people - mostly children. Many more are hurt (like the kid in this story), and uncounted property damage is caused (think of all the people in parking lots who just back out without looking).

Lobbyists will fight it though, for the same reason they fight almost all safety equipment: it's more profitable to kill and maim people than protect them.

Yup.

Well the woman in the car wasn't killed, so it was safer, for her, which is all that matters when you're buying a car, right?

hardinparamedic: special20: The state is going to want to know which of these kids is the EMT, because that was a life threatening situation if the car was preventing major blood loss, or the motion involved in her rescue would have put her in further peril. Who was the expert that assessed the situation? These kids should all be summoned before the courts for practicing emergency medical techniques without a license. The state wants its money, and there is no way some punk kids can ruin the integrity of that EMT certification by simply moving a car off some flattened filly on a whim.

Poe, or powerful derp.

Can't be both, huh?

"I think we did a good job. It kind of bothered me throughout school today," Valley high sophomore Jack Danho said. "It was still in my head. I was traumatized, but our quick thinking saved her life."

Nice try.  You still have to take the pop quiz.

No, I read the article ( I hate it when people post without reading). I didn't watch the video, but there was nothing in the text regarding race. Regardless, I was just being snarkily racist.

Well, the only plausible explanation for that rant is either over-the-top mocking of FARK Libertarians, or a complete ignorance of the law on parr with counting to potato.
