Ultraviolet Catastrophe: But it was only a fantasy. The wall was too high as you can see. No matter how he tried, he could not break free.
camarugala: Is this better or worse than centipedes in the vagina?
Kyndig: My wife is friends with someone who got a worm from street food in Southeast Asia. It's currently attached to his brainstem, slowly eating through it. It can't be removed without killing him. He'll eventually start losing body functions and die. That is now officially the worst way I have ever heard of to go.
Astorix: Actually this is trichinosis, a common parasitic worm caused by eating raw, undercooked pork, or water with pig poop in it.

That is now officially the worst way I have ever heard of to go.That sounds like some heavy duty bullshiat. If this person has a worm near/in the brain stem it's likely a taenia genus worm, those are completely treatable with albendazole. There have also been quite a few cases of the parasite being removed through surgery.
Oldiron_79: In before 1800s tapeworm adds
wildsnowllama: This was in the pilot of House.
Snarfangel: King Something:SHUTDOWNEVERYTHINGIf it's a legitimate tapeworm, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.

trappedspirit: You never heard of those parasitic fishes that will swim up your pee-pee hole in the Amazon? That's why I don't go to that site anymore.
The Dog Ate My Homework: I think the Jews and Muslims might be on to something when it comes to pork.
Gyrfalcon: British woman nearly died after tapeworms burrowed into her BRAIN while she was volunteering in Madagascar. Her BRAIN.Her BRAIN.I love how the Daily Fail emphasizes words like that. Her BRAIN.
nytmare: wildsnowllama: This was in the pilot of House. But House gave his patient two pills. The woman in the article received only one.
serialsuicidebomber: Also, it's been my experience that doctors like to quote statistics about the disease/injury/life expectancy without sort of consideration for the specific issue at hand....... at the age of 36, I slipped on ice and dislocated my shoulder. The doc then spouted off about how people who dislocate their shoulders normally do so in their 20's when playing contact sports, so that the likelihood of a re-occurrance diminished with age. Thanks, but that is irrelevant in my situation, since it is freaking impossible to avoid ice in Canada for at least 4 months of the damn year. So, for me, the likelihood of dislocating that specific shoulder under the same conditions is Obviously much greater.
