(Apple)   Hollywood has finally made the movie where a guy who is going around killing bankers and CEO is the good guy. Because glorifying the idea of shooting everyone you feel is responsible for your failure is EXACTLY what we need right now   (trailers.apple.com) divider line 117

tenpoundsofcheese: Hollywood The NRA and the Tea Party has have made a fortune by promoting and growing the culture of violence in this country.

They are complete idiots.

There, we're good now.

Keep sucking Wayne LaPierre's cock, I'm sure it will pay off someday.

Mazzic518: Rawhead Rex: space1999: Subby is a moron.  I wish someone would do this for real.

Go die a slow death, idiot...

Aren't you over your death wish quota for the day sparky ?

Seriously, for a guy who makes close to two hundred thousand a year, Rawhead sure seems strangely angry.  Why does it bother you that people think that criminals who crash the economy and inflict broad suffering on the people should be pegged to the wall with an icepick?  Or maybe a crowbar.

/ I don't know what implement to use to peg a guy to a wall.
// I've never done slashies before.

Seriously, who cares about CEO compensation anyway?

FTA: Almost three years after Congress ordered public companies to reveal actual CEO-to-worker pay ratios under the Dodd-Frank law, the numbers remain unknown. ..."It's a simple piece of information shareholders ought to have," said Phil Angelides, who led the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission, which investigated the economic collapse of 2008. ...The leading opponent of mandatory pay-ratio disclosure is a Washington-based non-profit called the HR Policy Association, which represents top human resources executives at about 335 large corporations."We don't believe the information would be material to investors," said Tim Bartl, president of the group's advocacy arm, the Center on Executive Compensation. Accounting for country-to-country differences in wages and benefits at global companies would be costly, time-consuming and all but impossible, he said in an interview.

In other words, it's just too much hard work and nobody really cares, so shut up and get back to work already.

SpiderQueenDemon: I'd really rather see a movie where a team of hackers, grifters, thieves and whatnot simply arranged for every unethical banker and CEO responsible for the recent economic malfeasance to get caught in such an overt, public, easily-understood way that not even their purchased politicians could save them. All would wind up in horrible disgrace, get sent to PMITA prison for other sins or wind up asking for long sentences just so they aren't killed by the organized criminals they were already in bed with after the team reveals they were sleazy even to their own associates.

Why kill them when you could spit-roast them for years and years? Killing them creates martyrs. Better to destroy them so utterly that their friends would have to bend down to spit on them, and thus send a message that to betray the trust of the people is to court oblivion.

You could technically save money and just greenlight a run of 'Leverage' movies where Parker, Eliot and Hardison run the team to accomplish this. I bet Jeri Ryan would help produce them if the writers asked, and if they made the wafer-thin disguises of the bad guys in question just a little bit more transparent, then Anonymous would grow too numerous to prosecute and there would simply be too many people responsible for the actual downfalls in question for civil suits to really be productive. It isn't libel when it's true, and it isn't defamation to point out that somebody actually committed a crime.

Take my money!

The Downfall: OH GOD I JUST REALIZED ITS DIRECTED BY UWE BOLL

Moopy Mac: Nabb1: Nabb1: I mean, I don't find this outrageous or offensive, but how is killing a shady hedge fund manager stock executive and shooting up their Wall Street office supposed to get you your nest egg back?  Seems poorly thought out to me.

Scratch that hedge fund part.  Hedge fund managers work for the ultra-wealthy, and I imagine have nothing to do with some blue collar dude's pension and 401K. Then again, this is Uwe Boll.

The largest investors in many hedge and PE funds are pension plans.

Yeah, basically the way it works is you put money into your 401K/pension, the money then comes under the control of a hedge fund manager who uses it to buy up your company, strip the assets, sack everyone, and shift the remaining parts to China. So now you are unemployed, but hey your 401K just made extra 0.1% profit this year after the hedge fund manager scrapes off his $1b annual bonus.

I just love how people scream that it was their own fault, and that the money people had nothing to do with people's woes. Not even the people who had very little debt, because they could not get a credit card, or buy a home, living paycheck to paycheck. Then, lost their job because either their company shut down or cut staff, could not find another job, and basically ended up on the street. Yep, circumstance had nothing to do with their woes at all.

I liked postal, and felt it was a faithful adaptation of the game.

Not trolling.  He set out to make a bad movie off a bad video game, and he accomplished it.

Marshmallow Jones: Just before the collapse of Lehman Brothers, executives at Neuberger Berman sent e-mail memos suggesting, among other things, that the Lehman Brothers' top people forgo multi-million dollar bonuses to "send a strong message to both employees and investors that management is not shirking accountability for recent performance."

I used to work for Neuberger Berman so I am really getting a kick out of this reply. It was a very good, ethical firm when I was there. The rules were such that if both an employee and customer traded a stock on the same day the customer would always get the better price. The guy who managed the employee 401(k) plan, once apologized to a IT shlub about the fund's recent performance. Not to say the firm didn't have a few bad apples but they were dealt with quickly.

I wonder if they have consultants whose sole job is to look for ways to violate all the safety rules of handling firearms...
I mean, unless he plans on making himself deaf and shooting somebody behind and few hundred feet above him, he really shouldn't have his finger on the trigger.

Also, he has way too much finger on that trigger to shoot straight.

Also also, what's with the solid A2 grip?  They're made to be hollow and I'm not aware of any grip plugs that look like that.

Also also also, either somebody has built him an entirely left handed AR-type rifle (possible, but EXTREMELY rare/unlikely) or they have done a horizontal flip on the image and hoped that nobody would notice.

/I noticed
//I already suspect there will be accuracy/quality issues with this film

Dancis_Frake: After seeing Rampage and Postal, I'm more concerned with Dracula playing in it.

Rampage was actually decent. Heresy, perhaps, but it didn't feel like a Uwe Boll film.
