It's his father, this isn't surprising and I can't say I blame him.  But the evidence is OVERWHELMING here, I mean he threw bombs at the damned police, pretty clear they got the right man.  You know between this and the triple kidnapping, maybe it's not ALWAYS a good idea to tag along with whatever your brother may be doing.

I'm pretty anti-death penalty, I think life is just swell for him.  A kid who liked to smoke a little weed and party now faces the harsh reality of a lifetime in a concrete box.  Each day will be the same, nothing will distinguish one day from the next.  23 hours a day in a cell, alone, with no human contact whatsoever.  After a few years of that, I'd be begging for the needle!  I almost feel sorry for him, but then I remember that a child, two young women and a police officer are dead and scores are gravely wounded.  He deserves that, harsh as it may be.

Throw in no natural light and the only thing he gets to read are news stories detailing the lives he destroyed and I'd consider it.

Well, if he goes to ADX Florence, which it's pretty likely that he would, he would get a 4 inch wide window, and allowed 5 days a week one hour a day of exercise 'outside' in his own cage.  That's not MUCH natural light.  A black and white television to watch religious programs, which even a devout believer would get sick of pretty quickly.  The whole "no human contact" thing is what would be truly maddening.  The only people he will ever encounter are those who bring him his food and those who take his fully restrained ass to and from court, exercise cage, etc.  It's about the saddest life I could imagine outside of actual physical beatings daily.

There is literally zero evidence that Boston Bombing suspect Azamat Tazhayakov threw bombs at the police.

I think you better read the article. It's not that father. Though its perfectly understandable to mix up Tazhayakov and Tsnarnaev. XD

This is the dad of one of the idiots that lied to the FBI and got rid of evidence, not the idiots that actually did the bombing.

I'm OK with this dude's son rotting in a concrete box for just a few years. He doesn't need a life sentence.

Yes, I see that now.  I assumed it was the bomber's father, as he had also proclaimed his sons innocence.

As others said, this is the father of the friend who got arrested for helping them out. But yes the names are darn confusing.

As someone whose last name is 13 letters long with only 3 vowels, I agree with this statement.

If I was a betting man- and I am, whenever possible- I'd wager that your last name ends in "ski". Am I close?

Nope. German, not Polish.

This I don't get.  You are anti-death penalty, yet you want to inflict a punishment on someone that you admit is most likely more tortuous than death.  Is it that you find the death penalty not cruel enough to satisfy your taste for revenge?

I don't know about this case, it does seem that the police are grasping at straws.

For all we know it could have been a case of Big Bro saying "hey buddy can you hold this for me, my wife would kill me if she found me with it."

It seems like ADX Florence is used as a hole into which to put politically-sensitive prisoners.  That's really a misuse of the prison - it should be used as a way to control difficult prisoners, not hide away people like Robert Hanssen.

Well, first of all I was confused and thought this was about the bomber's father, so in the case of what TFA is ACTUALLY about, not worth more than maybe a little jail time for destroying evidence.  As for the death penalty, I oppose it mainly because of the risk of innocent people being executed, and the fact that we can safely cage a person with no possibility of escape, rendering it unnecessary.  I feel that those responsible for the murder of a child and three others should face the harshest penalty that we have, which I do believe is a life sentence in supermax deprived of all humanity.  I can't imagine being any tougher on crime than that, the death sentence in many ways is a cop out.  I don't advocate him being raped or shanked, and I'm certain they will prevent any chance of that, but I do advocate him being locked in a cage alone for the rest of his life.  Fark him.
