Well he has his 2,600 bucks back and a new xbox kinect he didn't pay for, so perhaps he isn't as stupid as we think he is. Or College Humor is.

Gambling addiction != lack of intelligence.

Poor impulse control != lack of intelligence.

Enough already.  Can we move on from this chucklehead?

not only that he got the carnies to give him 600 bucks so he's actually up almost a grand on the whole thing.

As far as I can tell, he's about the average intelligence for his age group.

$3,200 he got $600 back from the carny. It sounds like he made money with this deal!

He may have gotten his money back and some extra but he'll alway be the guy who lost $2600 and got a giant rasta banana instead.

You can't buy away that kind of humiliation.

2013-05-08 09:34:16 AM
The fact that you spent more than $5 on any carny gave ever created, for any purpose, tells us all we need to know.

Don't worry though folks, he's learned his lesson. From now on, only claw games and those stacker ones where you can win the iPads and Vita's. You know, the ones that won't rip you off.

This article suggests that the carnival worker was someone not to be trusted , I'm skeptical.

For all you math majors adding up the assets and debits, don't forget that the rasta banana is pretty sweet.  And he had to give that up.

Too bad he didn't pepper all of his complaints with "I just came from McDonalds and was eating my McDonalds at the fair across the street from the McDonalds....."  He'd be even more famous.

I beg to differ.

I don't disagree about the first, but the second?  Poor impulse control leads to basically the same outcomes as actually being stupid, so it's effectively the same thing.

Someone spent $2600 at that game?

I guess there is money in the banana stand!

I'm not going to pass judgment on his intelligence (or lack thereof), but his lack of shame is at near superpower levels!

If any normal person had lost their "life savings" of $2,600 to a carney and won a giant rasta banana, they would never speak of it again. It would be a deep, dark secret that - if it got out - could drive them to leave town.

This guy? Didn't bat an eyelash and started screaming from the mountaintops.

He is..... Shame Proof.

Carnies rank down there with gypsies and faith healers on the trustworthiness scale, so really...

But they rank above politicians. Even a gypsy faith healer working at a carnival has Some standards.

If the Carnie was telling him that is was a promotional thing and he would get all his money back, I'd say the carnie should be brought up on charges.

In other news, carnies lie.

You probably should stay away from carnival games.

So blundering through life like an imbecile until you unwittingly attract the attention of people who will pay you a little something and whore you out to the internets is what goes for smart now?

I'm not talking about myself here. What I'm saying is yes the games are obvious rigged, but you shouldn't attempt to con people by making obvious false (not just misleading) statements in your place of business. Sure pulling such cons on the street is one thing, but pulling them in a place of business where someone can press charges on your business is stupid. I really do think charges should be filed, just to make a statement that such cons from registered businesses aren't tolerated.

I'd bet he has a whole pile of useless scratch tickets to show for that.

If you can't trust a carnie, then just who can you trust?

2013-05-08 10:50:35 AM
Two things:

1. Apparently you can place a value on a rasta bananamon. Well, at least an upper boundary.

2. Did the carnie get a promotion? Because anyone that can hook a guy for this kind of cash on a carnie game should at least be made executive carnie.

I don't understand gamblers. All I know is that it ruins the lives of innocents.

I wish gambling would be banned.
