Fark that  fark farking farkstick up a fark's farking fark.

My work might be dragging me out tonight for some forced bonding. There better be booze and a TV there so I can go sit in the corner and watch the game.

I posted this at the end of last night's game thread. It's too good to leave buried there.

soopey: I think I'm seeing a potential life altering trend. Let me study it out for you.
Three years in a row, the team that beat the Vancouver Canucks has won the Stanley Cup.

In 2010 it was the Chicago Blackhawks in the Conference Semifinal round
In 2011 it was the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup Finals.
In 2012 it was the Los Angeles Kings in the Conference Quarterfinal round.

This must mean it's the Sharks year. The facts don't lie. You can draw a straight line from point A to point B.

Ahh, few things are more comforting than a 5 am hockey thread when your stuck in a hospital room waiting to find out your fate.  This Total Fark gift subscription couldn't have come at a better time.

Enough of that crap, go Leafs, Blues, Wings, and Rangers.

Thanks for the morning laugh.
Sorry about the "Fake Smiles & Awkward Conversations" Hour
I'm not a fan of those either.

I'm missing the B's game for a good reason.
I'll be at the Dunk for the P-Bruins, elimination game.

Yeah, there were some venue scheduling issues involved with Bruins-Bears. No weekday games until now.

Wow, after checking my favorite "morning after" hockey site (they show the game highlights of all the games from the previous night without any spoilers anywhere on the page so that you can see them without knowing the end result), I'm really glad that I went to bed during the 2nd period of the Sharks/Canucks game last night.  I was constantly dozing off until then & finally gave up (too many consecutive late west coast games for someone living in the eastern time zone who needs to be up at 6am...).  I couldn't have made it to OT....

Congrats go out to the Sharks, the only sweep of the 1st round.  Even though I am a die hard Ducks fan, I do have a soft spot in my heart for the playoff hapless Sharks (I was born & raised in the Bay Area).  So if my beloved bruisers from down south can't move on (something very much up in the air at this point), I do have other options to keep my playoff interest high.  Now for the big challenge facing them, keeping the intensity high through a long lay off waiting on the other teams to finish (something that has killed the Ducks in previous years when they've done great in one round only to shiat the bed the next one because they had too much time off & they lost focus).

My co-worker predicted the Canucks epic fail.

He said they were propped up by playing in a sh*tty division (with my Flames, lulz) and that at their first true test they would crumble.

I thought they'd win a couple games, maybe push it to six.

I'm happy to be wrong.

Vancouver is the proverbial paper tiger.  They are fast and skilled, but when push comes to shove they have no heart or grit to get the job done.

It's all gravy at this point for me as a Wings fan. I was happy that they were able to make the playoffs and keep the streak going at 22 years. Being tied in the series at 2-2 against one of the best teams in the league is more than I would have hoped for. I'd love to see them pull it out so we'd get a series against the Blackhawks, but if we don't, all is well. A couple of acquisitions in the off season, coupled with the rookies that have proven to be keepers, and the Wings will be one of the top teams again next season.

I'm rooting for them this round, for one last Western Conference meetup with the Blackhawks.

In which we'd kick your asses, of course.

As a fan of a team that will be in the same division as the Red Wings next year, they scare the crap out of me.
