Oh, awesome. The whole time I'm thinking the only way this could be better is if Anderson did the grab-shake...

2013-05-08 08:50:09 AM
I know this is about Charles Ramsey but what stuck with me the most was he said "children" not child and "grandchildren" not "grandchild" when referring to who played in the yard.

I'm afraid this is about to get worse. Only one kid came out. One is unaccounted for.

2013-05-08 09:00:36 AM
Anderson looked very uncomfortable talking to him.

2013-05-08 09:01:15 AM
I want to see the interview with the dispatcher.... how will that look... the day Amanda Barry was almost NOT rescued because " there wasnt a car available"... twat.

2013-05-08 09:01:41 AM
Did he steal the Heineken?

Damn this is heart breaking more than hilarious. I think this guy is awesome. Still has some classic lines in there, bro.

BalugaJoe: Anderson looked very uncomfortable talking to him.

Did you not see how non-white this guy is?

2013-05-08 09:09:49 AM
Anderson Cooper: Do you feel like an hero?

Charles Ramsey: No. No No.I'm a Christian. I'm an American. I'm just like you. We bleed the same blood. We put our pants on the same way.

"You gotta put that being a coward and I don't want to get involved in nobody's business, you gotta put that away bro.
It's about cojones.

"He wasn't no freak of nature!".....  and then Cerrone's Supernature started playing in my mind for some odd reason

"I'd be facing triple life". Hah. I believe him, too. Except no jury would convict a guy this awesome.

2013-05-08 09:13:44 AM
This is a great guy. Anderson Cooper talked about  possibly collecting some reward money, and he told them they should give that money to the girls.

Bro, Bro.

He had two daughters with his wife, who divorced him and got custody before all this. Since then one daughter had a baby she tried to kill and is in prison. Who knows about the other daughter. It could be these grandchildren he saw don't include any of his captives' offspring.

2013-05-08 09:25:35 AM
Oh yeah, and the daughter who tried to slice open her baby would never tell anyone who the father was.

Kudos.

Charles Ramsey is a really cool dude and a great guy!

2013-05-08 09:36:26 AM
This guy is awesome. And he's probably the very best thing that could happen for those women in this situation. TOTALLY takes the focus off of them so they can do what they need to do: be out of the spotlight for awhile, reconcile with their families, start to undergo therapy and come to terms with what happened to them.

The last thing they need right now is the media pressure and Charles Ramsey takes it off of them entirely.

In the interview linked, he said the little girl identified Ariel as her dad (and wanted to see him).

So one of them was at least. Kid didn;t know any better.

He doesn't even want the reward money. He wants them to give it to the kidnapping victims. I'm getting teary-eyed thinking about that. This man is a hero.

Yesterday, a friend said that he did not think Charles should be considered a hero.  I normally a very hesitant to use this title; however, we live in a society were some people can see a child be raped in a shower and walk away and call their dad for advice.  I consider him a hero because, even though he thought it was a domestic situation, he still broke the door down and helped her out...

Bravo for doing the right thing - too many people do not want to get involved anymore.

totally, he's loosing sleep over money but knows the girls could use it more than he does after their ordeal. I think a lot of people would personally like to reward this guy for being a beacon for humanity, not just because of how he rescued the girls, but how he's been handling the publicity

2013-05-08 11:36:51 AM

Wild Eyed and Wicked: Bravo for doing the right thing - too many people do not want to get involved anymore.

And, scarily enough, some of those people who don't want to get involved are apparently police. And I'm not just referring to the stories coming out about other instances where police were called to investigate things at that house. Human nature is sometimes amazing and sometimes horrifying.

2013-05-08 12:12:56 PM
This man gives me hope for society. While we elevate and idolize the most horrible and shallow people like the Kardashians or the "Real Housewives", this man demonstrates the best in humanity both by helping those girls and how he handles the notoriety from it. Bravo!

jpo2269: Hopefully, when the media finds whatever skeleton (s) Mr. Ramsey has in his closet, they choose not to report on it...  Like many, I rather like this dude and would like to know him just as a hero.

All that matters right now is that someone had the chance to do the right thing and farking did it.

2013-05-08 01:24:20 PM
I love that they relocated him to somewhere in the burbs (unless he went to stay with family or friends, then I stand corrected). But that is definitely nowhere near where he's from. There's an actual yard and space between the houses. The houses look newer so I guess it would be a further out burb then somewhere like Shaker Heights or Lakewood.

This guy should probably be the poster child for the failure of the American education system.  He's obviously reasonably intelligent, but the education seems a little lacking.

Sorry, was just talking about the grandchildren spotting playing in the yard possibly being his actual grandchildren, not questioning that the child with Amanda was hers.

he gave his address out when he read the paycheck label.  i'm thinking there will be a lot of thank-you cards, gift baskets, monetary rewards, and letters of support heading this man's way.  he doesn't want credit for what he did; he's content with having just done the right thing when a bad situation landed his way, more than many would have done (and non-americans who say they don't know why this is unusual, fyi... living in a tough neighborhood like that, it's a matter of survival to keep your head down and don't get involved).  even if he wants nothing in return, he farking deserves something.

So the police ignored that house how many times .. meanwhile, how many times did the SWAT team get called out in Cleveland because someone was smoking a joint?

Here's your chance to true American honor a hero:
In the Anderson Cooper interview, Charles Ramsey let slip his address (reading from his paycheck). I suspect that they will bleep that out soon, for privacy purposes, but who knows? Anyway, if you, like me, think this amazing human being deserves to know how terrific he is, please take a few moments to send him a card, letter, note, check, McDonald's gift card--whatever your heart tells you to send him. He has single-handedly renewed my faith in the human race with his actions and his wisdom.

Ok, so I am no Dr Phil...

Thing is, all this attention, coupled with the guilt he is obviously feeling towards not knowing about this the whole time, he actually might need someone to talk to himself. Certainly not on the level of the women in the house. Yet obviously he's been affected now too.

While he doesn't mind getting interviewed, the absolute fact is that he did the right thing when the situation presented itself in front of him.  You get very few chances in your lifetime to do something heroic.  This guy did the right thing.  In interviews he has said things to try to get us to laugh, and that is ok, but he doesn't deserve to be laughed at.  There is a difference.

The guy lives next door to an address that is all over the news, and he gave out his address on national TV. Pretty sure that it's now public information and that alinac didn't do anything against the rules.

The one I'd get up on my high horse about if I were you and maybe call out a reporter or two if you have anymore time on your hands, is the publishing of unobscured pics of the 6 year old.

On to Charles. Oh. Man. I know others are going to make fun of him, but, I just love his "tell it like it is, no holds barred" conversations. He is awesome. And he is right about some of the cops in Cleveland...

So this guy got arrested for domestic abuse charges three times between 1997 and 2003, the last one was a felony because of the previous two, all during a marriage both parties admit was pretty rocky.

Pleads guilty, does his time, and for 10 years has been out of jail with no further problems.

Sorry, not going to hate on the guy over it.

Sin_City_Superhero: llachlan: Sin_City_Superhero: alinac: Here's your chance to true American honor a hero:
In the Anderson Cooper interview, Charles Ramsey let slip his address (reading from his paycheck). I suspect that they will bleep that out soon, for privacy purposes, but who knows? Anyway, if you, like me, think this amazing human being deserves to know how terrific he is, please take a few moments to send him a card, letter, note, check, McDonald's gift card--whatever your heart tells you to send him. He has single-handedly renewed my faith in the human race with his actions and his wisdom.

Charles Ramsey

... Cleveland, OH 44113

Take 5 minutes out of your life---this man stopped to make a difference, so we can, too.

Pretty sure you're not supposed to do that...

Pretty sure the Fark rules say "No posting of personal info, even if it's public record", or something similar, doesn't it?

Yes.

"Messages containing public OR private information: We are aware that most of this information can be found using Whois, or Google, or a phone book - however, posts containing personal names, contact information such as: email addresses, phone numbers, street addresses, social networking profiles, credit card numbers, etc. are not allowed."

That said, anyone who wants his address and needs Fark to get it is a moron, given that his neighbor's address is all over the news.

Not only that, but "domestic abuse" can range from... well, fark it, you can read what actions can get you charged with "domestic abuse" in Ohio here: http://www.ohiolegalservices.org/public/legal_problem/domestic-violen c e / domestic-violence/criminal-domestic-violence/qandact_view.

His other past charges (convictions for drug abuse, criminal trespassing, and receiving stolen property)... meh. I have no convictions for any of them, but I think I've still completed the trifecta.

BalugaJoe: Anderson looked very uncomfortable talking to him.

Anderson don't like talking to real black people. It's beneath his Libtard caste.

Invisible Pedestrian: Jim from Saint Paul: And the creators of "Bed Intruder" give us:

"Dead Giveaway".

Saw a few bad ones already, but that one's awesome.

/hope Stewart or Colbert get Ramsey on.

Nope, not those two. They would do nothing but make fun of him, in that elitist, libtard way of theirs.

EatenTheSun: Truncks1: This is a great guy. Anderson Cooper talked about  possibly collecting some reward money, and he told them they should give that money to the girls.

I kinda doubt he lives in the sort if neighborhood where you want a lot of people to know you suddenly have a lot of money.

He was waiving that paycheck around pretty nonchalantly like. From personal experience, and from what I've seen on the tv, I don't think that neighborhood is as bad as you think it is.

carrion_luggage: McDonalds should temporarily rename the Big Mac "The Big Charles" in his honor -- same ingredients, but you get two brass balls as a prize with every order.

Or some teenage griddle boy dabbing his balls in your special sauce.

vabeard: jpo2269: Hopefully, when the media finds whatever skeleton (s) Mr. Ramsey has in his closet, they choose not to report on it...  Like many, I rather like this dude and would like to know him just as a hero.

AND, I think TSG should be chastised for this. The comments section is doing a pretty good job of it, but if you Farkers don't do something about this, I've lost my faith in you.

Ramsey says his address in this interview, so it's not like there needs to be any digging to find it.
