Chupacrocodile.

When I saw the teeth and the shape of the jaw, my first thought was "orca".

Sure enough, in TFA, a marine biologist identified it as such based upon different evidence.

I'm going with "dead killer whale".

Yeah, I really don't understand all of the people who find something washed up on a beach, obviously rotting, and immediately leap to "sea monster" or alien because it doesn't look exactly like a live animal. I mean, I can see not knowing exactly what animal it is, but most people should be able to get in the ballpark.

Then again I'm pretty sure most people are pretty undereducated and not all that bright.

I knew right away that it was an Orca, based on the distinctive jawlines and the shape of the teeth.

/Not a marine biologist, nor do I play one on TV.

I don't understand people who don't understand why people who don't know what something is jump to wrong conclusions.

Isn't it obvious? It's because they want to. Everyone wants it to be a Mosasaur or some form of dinosauroid type sea monster, because it's a hell of a lot more interesting than a killer whale. Also they don't know what a killer whale looks like alive, let alone half rotten. Imagination is a wonderful thing.

Lack of knowledge is a great breeding ground for myth and legend, as Jack31081 says.

It also allows people to feel much more important than they actually are, "today I encountered something rare but perfectly natural," fails in comparison to "I saw a sign from God," or "I saw an alien/dinosaur."

Imagination is pretty great, but it can get a little out of hand when coupled with ignorance.

This thread is bringing back some awesome memories.

But, as good as that thread was....and as cool as the streetlight and balls in chair were...

NOTHING....No...THING...will EVER come close to the catass lipstick thread. Ever.

Stop trying. It can't be done. Do something comparatively simple, like faster-than-light travel. You'll have that before you beat teh kitteh/glass table/lipstick discussion.

I can't find it and have to get back to work.  Basically, guy comes in says his wife was home schooled and came out fine.  He is doubted by the community so posts pic of his wife with the wide smile.  Instant photoshopping begins, focusing primarily on her teeth.

Fuuun times.

FLYNAVY outting is one of the greatest for busting a faker
Kwame Sex Doll is great for shaming
Ballsack Conundrum is one of the best for edge-of-your-seat drama

So you can't just say catass lipstick thread
THAT was just plain FUNNY!!!
