Sofa King Smart: mongbiohazard: Sofa King Smart: Sixyp: Just spread the word on how medicinal their tails and skulls are then make it illegal to hunt them, seems to work in other countries!

I'm going to register a chinese language website and write up an article about how the spleen of the nutria is the most potent enhancer of manhood ever found... then I'm going to start up a nutria farm/processing center and an export business...  gold, Jerry... gold!  it can't miss!

Yeah, but you have to come up with some reason why it's only the spleen of Nutria in NORTH America. If not, with the human race's track record we'll extinct the ones in their natural habitat in South America, and leave the invasive population in North America untouched.

gah! good point...

ok... let's just lure all the nutria in Louisiana to Lake Peigneur.... then we'll drill a small hole into a salt mine... and just let nature take its course...

Just say because of the unique chemistry of food in the bayou that the nutria in North America eat that their livers cure impotence, baldness, and assist in brain development of children making them perform better in school - while the South American nutria actually have the opposite effect. Translate to mandarin and upload to Weibo. Bam. They're extinct within a few years, and a bunch of folks will make big money trading in Nutria livers to China.

Buggar: A childhood fishing trip of mine ended with nothing but a stringer full of fish heads thanks to those damn nutria.

Nutria are herbivores, they eat aquatic plant life.  Something else ate your fish.

namegoeshere: Private_Citizen: Nothing an unlimited hunting season couldn't solve. We've hunted things to extinction before.

They have that now. Not working.

The cobra effect. The French once tried an almost identical bounty program, where they paid people for each rat tail they brought in. It not only didn't work, it actually increased the rat population. Some enterprising poor folks were breeding rats for the bounty, others were cutting off the tails and releasing the tail-less - but alive - rats back out so they could continue to breed more rats.
