(Huffington Post)   Chuck Norris joins Michelle Bachmann in calling for 9/11 prayer day to "crank up the spiritual warfare." Wait, didn't 9/11 start with "spiritual warfare" in the first place?   (huffingtonpost.com ) divider line

You know what we do with people who talk about demons and angels fighting each other and using your mind to influence supernatural events? We call them loons and put them away so they can't hurt themselves or others. We don't ELECT THEM TO PUBLIC OFFICE!

I'll pass, thanks, and while you're welcome to encourage people to pray and fast or whatever, please avoid dragging this through our lawmaking processes.

For another, people who know for certain that if America does become a theocracy, they'll be among the first sent to the camps because they aren't Fundamentalist Evangelical Christians.

It's already a theocracy. Pledge your love of Jesus or you can't get elected.

It's a  de facto theocracy. I meant a de jure theocracy, which is currently not the case (blue laws and dry counties notwithstanding).

These phony Christians already have an annual prayer day, and have had one since 1988. The bill was sponsored in 1987 by Sen. Strom Thurmond, who was one of the GOP's finest examples of Christian virtue.

Excerpt from Pres. Obama's proclamation last week:

The Congress, by Public Law 100-307, as amended, has called on the President to issue each year a proclamation designating the first Thursday in May as a "National Day of Prayer."

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim May 2, 2013, as a National Day of Prayer. I join the citizens of our Nation in giving thanks, in accordance with our own faiths and consciences, for our many freedoms and blessings, and in asking for God's continued guidance, mercy, and protection.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this first day of May, in the year of our Lord two thousand thirteen, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-seventh.

I've often said that the best evidence for the nonexistence of God is that he has yet to do something about his fan clubs.

The U.S. continues its slide from moral malaise to cultural hedonism that makes the late 1960s look like the 1950s by comparison, as support for "same-sex marriage" grows, the horrors of the "abortion on demand" crusade are revealed in a Philadelphia courtroom sans media coverage and an epidemic of sex abuse against children by schoolteachers, clergy and scoutmasters is not only ignored but results in capitulation by the Boy Scouts of America to the demands of those who would make the citizenry of Sodom and Gomorrah blush.

Christians wish they were oppressed.  That's why they wage wars and molest kids and hoard money.  Because you'd have to be insane not to oppress the kind of people that pull shiat like that all the time.

I... I just can't believe that anyone is stupid enough to actually say something like that.  It's almost like he's doing it to purposefully drag this aspect of conservative irrationality and religious fanaticism out into the public eye.  So I guess I should thank you, Chuck, for doing your part to hold these whackos accountable, even if you're doing it unwittingly.

Are you kidding? Isn't one of the pillars of Christianity is of being in a real war with Satan for the soul of mankind? It's like the persecution complex. It's programmed into the DNA of the religion.
