This is the reason I have Dropbox set to automatically upload pics and video from my phone.

Not that anything interesting ever happens within a 5 mile radius of me, but when it does I'm ready to BRING THE MAN DOWN!

Cythraul: Cops getting fired actually happens? Wow.

They'll probably quietly be reinstated. That happens a lot too. Or just move to another state and become a cop there.

"We can't have this type of sloppy conduct - it's a betrayal of the public's right to not know what its police force is doing," Kleine said. "Getting caught like this is a stain on all good persons involved in law enforcement and a strain on their relationships in our community."  Kleine then added that a "good look-around" to scan for potential additional persons recording video would become part of police policy when making these kinds of arrests.

There.  Fixed TFA for ya.

Awesome. Let's hope it's a new beginning.

It's a step in the right direction.   Kudos for whomever up the chain decided that this was unacceptable.

Remember, if you see a cop, turn on your smartphone video camera.

If they're not doing anything wrong, then they have nothing to be afraid of, right?

2013-05-07 12:53:00 PM
This would have totally have happened if there wasn't video of the incident, right? Right? Anyone?

If you have a good data connection you can use something like Justin.TV, Ustream, and others which will also alert your friends/family via social media when you start streaming and they can watch you get your ass kicked by the cops live. Most of them automatically archive the video for later viewing.

If your connection isn't so good you might want to just record locally to a folder that automatically uploads the video so that it's not just a choppy mess.

Vimes in Omaha would be more amusing than an armorous armadillo in a bowling alley

The pigs are the most dangerous street gang there is.  Good to see the pigs got what they deserved.  They beat, taze, and plant dope on people daily.. once in a great while, someone gets the abuse on video.

Usually the pigs close ranks and get off totally free.

What kind of idiot would think that's OK to do in the US? (The Illinois law was struck, thankfully.)

You think that will happen?  Will the DA have much incentive to prosecute this as vigorously as he would, say, a pot bust?

2013-05-07 01:18:28 PM
Its aggrivating because stuff like this happens so often. Theres tons of videos like this out there. Probably happens twice as much when nobody's recording. When you see cops running into danger, like in Boston a few weeks ago, it almost made me forget that most who where blue are just the WORST. I've known quite a few officers, including family over the years, and most are tools. The guys in highschool that were the biggest dicks became cops. Most are bullies, with an overinflated sense of worth. Most, are complete garbage. I seriously would trust the dregs of society, than most of the douches in blue.
