I agree with the fundies and think we should ban liquor.

I'd expect this from Dearborn, but not Montevideo.

We don't know how to party in MN, we're just a bunch of angry closet alcoholics that shoot road signs and pipebomb random trees in the woods.

Not a terrorist. only Muslims are terrorists. This is just a wayward lad.

Don't be ridiculous.

We don't know that he wasn't a Muslim.

Making molotovs in a trailer? Cops should have just bought him a pack of cigs and let things play out naturally.

In all seriousness though I wonder if this guy had any connection to the guy who was pulled over and came out with the ak-47 blazing the other day?

What the fark is a guy named "Buford" doing in Minnesota?  Are we going to start hearing about Svens and Olafs in Alabama now?

Maybe he was preparing for a zombie apocalypse. However, he's an idiot. Everyone knows you can only hold one or the other, not both.

You know, having lived in a country that regularly experienced pretty spectacular acts of terrorism, I have to say I'm more than a little grateful that our homegrown wannabes are generally extreme only in their ineptness.

They keep referring to him as Mr Rogers.  It makes it hard to read it without thinking of how neighborly he is.

2013-05-07 08:23:11 AM
Whew! I'm just glad he fits the MSM template of a inbred redneck white supremacist. I was getting worried that the media outlets may never get it right.

"Terrorist." You keep using that word...

Fark cycle -  The Boston Bombers were angry Christian white guys, followed by teabaggers are too cowardly and lazy to do something like that, now back to fearmongering over angry christian white guys.

or one hell of a party

This being MN, and since I didn't see any mention of any sheep, we can safely assume that it was not a party.

Just wait. We'll find out this guy is the missing link to Benghazi after all. It's all coming together now. You'll hear about it in today's Congressional testimony. Be patient.

Another Christian looking to kill people, yet (typically) the media doesn't mention he's a Christian.

More PC bullshiat from the liberal media. Why are they so afraid of saying he's Christian?

I'd usually parody something a tea partier would say, but in this case I don't have to because I'll never top this maniac at FreeRepublic:

"First of all, you simply can't believe anything the government or it's propaganda arm (the media) reports or suggests. This guy may have been preparing to go after someone for killing his dog or something. Or, the molotov cocktails could have been for eradicating wasp nests, and the explosives for removing stumps."

This quote has not been altered or emderpified in any way.

Being a terrorist depends on your motivation, not simply using an explosive.

Not that authorities should let that stop them from getting that sweet, sweet federal money, enhanced police powers and special sentencing rules, of course. I look forward to the day when all crimes are terrorism.

This is what conservatives "christian" gun nuts actually believe.

and one firearm recovered from Buford's residence was a Romanian AKM assault rifle.

YES! A journalist actualy gets the difference between an AK-47 and a AKM! Is this a new age of enlightment?

I grew up in a small town in Minnesota.

I'd say there's a 0.05% chance he is a terrorist and a 99.5% chance he was just preparing for the weekend.

And here I thought he was a pacifist.

Did he smoke his cigarettes with style?

What's a suspected pipe bomb? Did he really have bottles filled with gas with rags stuffed in the top? Do doubt a crazy guy and having the gun was a very bad thing to do. but, this does seem to be blown out of proportion.

No one cares about the slight technical differences between an AK47, AKM, AK74, or other variants. To the general public they are all the same thing (scary Russian style rifles), and you'll just confuse them. Probably the only reason it's called an AKM in the article is because that's how the police spokesman described it and the reported didn't realize what that meant.

Plus, even we really want to get specific, since it was Romnian made they should probably be calling it a SAR-something. (IIRC)
