LTC? Let's see. Won't have his rank reduced. Probably going to be reassigned. May be asked to retire at his current rank with pension in tact.
Hooray for the Officer/Enlisted double standard!

Nice, Air Force. Real smooth.

If this was an E-5 instead of an O-5, he'd be reduced to E-1, sent to the brig for a year, and be given a Dishonorable Discharge.

In 2004 I was in the AF and received a mass email from someone on behalf of the USAF Academy. After their then multiple scandals they were soliciting airman for a new slogan for the Academy.

I replied with, "USAF Academy - Scandal Free Since 2003!"

Never heard back.

A 1LT is on the border of being tossed into the E-1 - E-5 category. Once you hit O-3, unless you shiat on the Commandant's desk, you should be safe. I was in the Army, but I never say anything bad happen to anyone over O-3.
We had an E-7 smuggle weapons home from Iraq, including a pistol he took of a dead contractor, and all the did was reassign him to brigade. Truth be told, it was good having him up there. He was able to secure us some toilet seats for the COP we were building.

Phew, I only shiat on three-star generals' property, safe again. I would say something super moto about toilet seats being for the weak, but I did a year at Leatherneck where we had indoor plumbing, surf and turf night, and personal ball washers.

Can't speak to E1 - E5, but I did serve with a Gunnery Sergeant (E7) who did the same thing as this LTC seems to have done.  The gunny stuck his hand down the blouse of one of the civilian cooks one night in our base cantina.  I think they threw in an charge of being over the three beer limit for shiats'n'giggles.  IIRC, he was reduced to E1, docked 6 months pay, rotated back to the states a few months early, and did some time in the brig.

And then he had to go home to the missus and explain why his paycheck was cut in half.

DeaH: Why don't they put a female officer in charge of sexual assault prevention?

This is all my wild speculation, but if I were to put out a conspiracy theory, it would be because a female might actually try to make the program work.

It's probably a very intensely political decision that is more based around who can make the program look good instead of who can make it effective.  As sad and horrible as that sounds.  A female in the position might focus more on actually making prevention effective instead of making the program as a whole 'look good'.

In reality, it's probably the density of females at the appropriate rank and position in their career contributing to a decreased chance of being put into that particular position coupled with a desire not to look like the program is being filled up with skirts to make it seem legit.  There's a little bit of damned if you do damned if you don't involved.  "She only got that position because she's female." vs "Why isn't a female filling that position?".

Well, when members of your branch stop raping and assaulting women and then having officers cover it up and force the victims out of the service, then maybe you can have your lad mags back.

It's almost as if breaking down the psyches of human beings only to reform them into mindless misogynist killing machines who cannot solve problems without the use of force is going to make it hard for them to integrate peacefully into a mutually trusting relationship.

Hmm, if only there were prior signs...
