(WTOP)   Want a reason to hate Bill Clinton, but just can't get that worked up over some guy lying about getting a beej? Well, how about this: he tried, but failed, to broker a Led Zeppelin reunion   (wtop.com) divider line 177

I can imagine that conversation:

"Hey fellas, how about a little reunion, you know, to support hurricane disaster families?"

"Sod off, wanker."

Good.  I don't want to see  geriatric, albeitlegendary, musicians gyrating on stage like young-uns.  They might break a hip, and that can mean death at their age.

But, the money they could have raised would have been nice.

And his failure to reunite Led Zeppelin is why we had 8 years of Bush.

Unfortunately Bonzo's bedtime was a long time ago.  Without Bonzo, Led Zeppilin is just a hollow, cynical shell of what it once was.

DAMN YOU BILL CLINTON!

On a serious note, replacing John Bonham would have been impossible...Jason is a decent drummer, but not like his father.

Not to mention Robert Plant no longer has the voice to sing the songs.

As someone who just watched the reunion DVD last night, I'm getting a kick.

I LOVE old Led Zeppelin, but let's face it, they aren't young anymore, and Robet Plant's voice is not the same.

What, Lenny Wolf wasn't available?

/Coverdale/Page was better than Zep anyway

Now, yes...but if you go back to '92-96...he may have been able to pull it off.

If you listen to the bootlegs he lost it around '72/'73 because of throat surgery and never fully got it back. His voice is mostly poor on the '73 and '75 tours, he recovers it halfway but never fully for some of the '77 tour, then it's shiat again after that.

These things happen.  Skynyrd didn't really find their sound until after the plane crash.

Did he ever have it? I've looked up some Youtube videos of live Zep performances, and it always looks like the rest of the band is trying to compensate for Plant, like shifting to a lower scale when his voice starts cracking.

Honestly their Legend is bigger than ever because they don't get back together.

Sure there have been the one off shows but only a handful and it should stay that way.

Here are 3 guys who walked away on top and never looked back for the moat part.

I'm still pissed off at Page for that craptastic P. Diddy crap.

We'll always have the recordings. Live Zep is pretty hard to beat.

Which strangely enough leads to Led Zeppelin being slightly *underrated* overall.  It blows that Stairway is their most famous song.

Please, not again.  it gets exponentially worse every time.  I'd rather take Scott Thompson's character in Hannibal and love it all by itself.

BC had a scheduled appearance at a former workplace of mine late during his second term.   I had this brilliant idea to buy a box of cigars, and pass them out to all of our female coworkers.    I was told "NO".

He did, but  Al Gore thought it would be a better strategy to measure the drapes while the whole thing took care of itself.

What, were they going to stash the cigars in their vaginas and present them to him at the right time?

It was all good until Page spotted the addendum: No fewer than 5 sax solos to be performed by Slick Willie The Stainmaker
